I stayed in the new building. Very nice. Good breakfast with green chile. Much better than chain motels. Nice pool and hot tub. Nice bar. Good country bands to dance on Saturday. It's rustic. I have also stayed in the old building. It's ok.

Thank Rochelle B

I stopped into Taos only for a night, but I didn’t want to break the bank, but I also didn’t want a roach motel. The Sagebrush has many positives: it’s located right off the main drag, the bar is quaint with a nice fireplace. The...More

There are very few encounters with bears and cougars in town. They do reside in the Carson National Forest which is a short drive away.

Hi! I was wondering what was "disgusting" about the breakfast? I am a seasoned traveler and have stayed here every time I travel to Taos and find it to be the best breakfast ever served by attentive wait staff (especially when you also consider it is included in the reasonable hotel price): bacon & sausage, toast & scrambled eggs; french toast & pancakes w syrup (s); authentic green and red N.M. chili; cereals hot and cold; juices, variety of coffee; exotic tea selection etc....all served in a huge dining hall. What do you eat in Pennsylvania for breakfast? Phili cheese steak? Also, where was your room because I don't want to stay there according to the way you described it. I stay across from courtyard in a room with new king size mattress, a fireplace and love it. Don't you think Taos is for people who appreciate history, authentic local food; and old New Mexico charm?

The Inn is located off a major highway several miles from the Taos Plaza. Therefore, it is unsafe to walk and probably too far for most.
