Phillip the chef came out and visited us at our cozy table in the cafe. Old World charm. We enjoyed the potato and leek soup the most ,but everything we ordered was "made from scratch"- we had a late lunch. Staff very friendly. Inside La Fonda Hotel, this cafe has superb menu.

We stayed at this small hotel to meet friends visiting from out of state. The staff at reception was very welcoming and friendly. The room (1 queen bed) was small but very comfortable; the bathroom was well-equiped. We visited in August, which can be hot but also stormy. The bed was very comfortable and the swamp cooling system did a... More

Wasn't sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. We only stayed for 1 night on our way from Denver to Santa Fe. The hotel was really cute and located in the center of Taos Plaza. I decided to get an upgraded room and it was worth it. It was a shared balcony facing the plaza with a decent size... More

Its great to go on a vacation, arrive at your hotel and realize you hotel and room decision was a great one. Rooms #302 & #301 share a balcony that face the Taos Plaza. It makes for great entertainment and people watching for what can otherwise be a sleepy little town. These Also some of Taos best restaurants, cocktail lounges... More

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. 2 days in a row, my housekeeping service was horrible. They didn't clean the bathroom, replace drinking glasses, empty the trash, and only pulled up the blankets to make the bed. I complained to mgmt the second day, and the supervisor came and did some housekeeping. I was not offered any compensation for... More

Pros: It was so nice staying in the heart of Taos and being able to walk to so many of the quaint shops and restaurants. Our room had sooooo much charm! The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Cons: Small room, but worth it because of the charm. No on-site laundry. Highlight: We enjoyed looking out our window... More

Location is wonderful right on the square and we paid the 6.00 per day parking fee, well worth it. I emailed the hotel to ask for a couples massage and told them it was our 35th wedding anniversary and when we entered out room there was a bottle of wine and 2 wine glasses with hotel logo on then and... Lovely and quaint hotel right on the plaza. Wonderful and friendly staff willing to accommodate our requests. On site coffee shop was a great addition. Really enjoyed the secret D.H. Lawrence paintings. The Saturday morning farmers market on the plaza was fun and offered tantalizing fruit, vegetables and baked goods as well as several groups of entertainers.

Stayed here after driving down from Antonito, CO. Central location on the plaza. Park and walk. Very good parking provided for hotel. Got a recommendation for a nice wine bar (Black Mesa Winery Taos Tasting Room) and a good dinner restaurant (Doc Martin's Restaurant).

We found this to be a very nice hotel and convenient location in the middle of the square. Parking in the back for $6 a day and we left the vehicle parked until ready to leave. Free coffee and tea during your stay at Starbucks, just show your room key. Complimentary bottles of water when you arrive to help keep... More
