We loved staying at the Casa Blanca. The hosts were great and they really have the whole thing down - they know when you need to get up to see the birds and they have the coffee ready for you to take with you, then they have a full breakfast ready just at the time when you will be coming...

This B&B is only about 10 miles fromt the Refuge, and about a half hour closer than Socorro. Two of the rooms have their own bath, but we stayed in the third room, whose bath is across the dining room. People get up well before dawn, pick up fresh coffee in the kitchen, and drive to the Refuge in time...

We located Casa Blanca through Tripadvisor. As has happened so many other times when using Tripadvisor, we ended up in a wonderful place. As has been reported by others before us, Phoebe and Phil run a fantastic B&B. Not only is the accommodation very comfortable and quiet, the food served up by Phoebe at breakfast was delicious. We particularly liked...

My wife and I had an absolutely fabulous time at Casa Blanca. We stayed in the Heron room, which we highly recommend -- spacious yet cozy, with a wonderful bathroom and a private entrance, convenient for leaving early in the morning for the refuge. But the best part of the whole experience was Phil and Phoebe themselves. We had wonderful...

We had just spent the afternoon/evening Birding at Bosque Del Apache. We were tired. We were about to book a motel in Socorro. My wife decided to see if there was anything closer. She found the Casa Blanca and Phoebe still had the Egret Room available! We had called from the edge of town and Phoebe talked us in to...

I have been visiting the Bosque del Apache NWR for over 20 years. I usually stay in Socorro, or camp out. This was my first time staying at the Casa Blanca B&B. I had heard many good things about it before my visit. I was very happy with my stay. The price was reasonable and competitive with the more expensive...

Thanks so much for your positive input....we greatly appreciate it! Just a minor correction on your room tip comment. The largest room with the king bed and whirlpool tub is called the Heron room ( not the Crane). The Heron room is our most popular room since it is large and quiet......

We recently spent 4 nights at the Casa Blanca B&B. In addition to great access to Bosque del Apache NWR, this B&B has bird feeders. In a nearby tree we were able to photograph Pyrrhuloxia, white-winged doves, and greater and lesser goldfinch, among others. On the ground, with a little patience, Gamble's quail would pose. And then there's the food....

A pleasant evening with wine and good company on the patio and a stimulating morning learning about the Bosque del Apache. Phoebe is a wonderful host, and her assistant, Phil, is a knowledgeable about the Bosque. This is a wonderful place to stay and the home is very charming.

Some one else said it best, "it was like going to your favorite aunt". Phoebe is lovely and made you feel very well. The home is old so has lots of little quirks and with a lovely patio. The breakfast is great, with fruit, and breads, eggs and home made biscotti. Perfect place for the Bosque and only a couple...

This darling B&B near the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge (a birder's paradise) is comfortable and homey, filled with lovely antique furnishings. Phoebe, the proprietor, serves a fabulous homemade breakfast that varies daily and includes egg dishes, meats, fresh fruits and home-baked goods. She also has an ever-available cookie jar for late-night raids. Her partner Phil is the former manager...
