The final leg of a 14 night tour of the West and Eastern Capes was a 2 night stay at Eagles Crag Shamwari. Our ranger was Franse who looked after us wonderfully for all of our 4 drives. He really knows his stuff and we saw so much including the big 5 very close up so we took so many...

My family and I stayed at Eagles Crag from 4-7 November 2013. It is our second stay at Eagles Crag and our third at Shamwari. When we arrived at the lodge we were met by Lisa-Marie who could not have made us feel more welcome. She asked if we would like to go out on the afternoon game drive which...

We visited Shamwari for 2 nights/ 3 days during our honeymoon- it was sensational. we did 5 game drives and saw loads of animals. Our guide Philip was friendly and informative and also went the extra mile to see something exciting (including the famous lioness warthog killing!). The spa, accommodation and food were superb and the traditional braai was a...

We stayed in one of the luxury tents at Bayethe. The tent had everything you could ever want and so much more. All the staff were fantastic, so helpful and kind. The food was wonderful and very well presented. Our Ranger Mino made what was a wonderful experience into a truly unique personal experience for the six members of our...

Shamwari is well worth a visit. We stayed at Eagles Crag lodge and it was quite fantastic. The game drives were good and our ranger was very knowledgeable about all the wildlife we saw. It was very wet and quite cold when we were there but blankets and waterproof ponchos were provided. The service in the lodge was first class...

The staff aimed to make our stay a memorable one. We stayed at the Riverdene Lodge which was very homey and relaxing. Our Field Guide, Ntobeko, was a delight and made our game reserve drives fun and adventurous. The food was fabulous, service impeccable.

Brilliant place, fantastic rooms, great staff a pure delight. The Reserve is spacious and the hunting to views the animals adds to the drama. We saw 4 of the big 5 but our guide tried his best to find the allusive Leopard. Up close and personal.

We really enjoyed our stay in Bayethe Lodge and had some amazing wildlife experiences! However our 2-night stay could not live up to the 3 nights we had at Madikwe Game Reserve at the start of our trip, hence the rating of 3. The accommodation is nice, but the lodge was not as intimate or special feeling as we had...

One of our many highlights of our South African adventure was our trip to Shamwari. We stayed at the Eagles Crag Lodge which for me was perfect because it was surrounded by woods and cliffs and gave us great privacy. Moreover you seem to be more at one with nature with birds tweeting all around you. Our room was spacious...
