We enjoyed a wonderful 4 days at Simbavati under the care of Corbert & Derrick who ensured that we had amazing wildlife encounters at almost every turn. The game drives were fantastic & obviously the reason for our trip but we enjoyed the lodge & its surrounding also. Meals were enjoyed on the deck, at the Boma & one fantastic... More

We are a family of four - 2 adults and 2 children, ages 10 and 11 - who were visiting South Africa for the first time. We went to 2 lodges during our stay, and Simbavati River Lodge was our favorite of the two. We had about a 30 minute drive from the airport and on that drive alone, we... More

I went on this trip nearly a year ago and still dream think about it! Going on an African safari was always on my bucket list, and Simbavati was truly able to bring it to life. Everything about our stay was so perfect, and they kept pleasantly surprising us at every corner. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the... More

Let me start by saying Timbaviti game preserve and Simbavati River lodge did not disappoint...as a matter of fact both greatly exceeded our expectations. We loved the ruggedness of Timbavati, the lodge's perfect location on a dry river bed, and the game drives where our ranger and Tracker worked so hard to make sure every hour was memorable. Our tents... More

We stayed at the lodge in March 2016. Right from our arrival (we drove our rental there) everything was top notch and everyone was so caring! They had cold, damp towels for our use upon arrival, and check in was a breeze. We stayed in the Rhino lodge, and tho they had some patching to do on the thatched roof... More

What an experience! The staff, the accommodation, the food, the trackers, the Rangers... Everything is sensational. We had dietary needs and we had small children and the lodge went out of their way to cater for us. They even gave the children welcome gift bags and arranged for a baby sitter when we went on the drives. The tracker and... More

We had a wonderful experience at Simbavati. The staff was like a family that worked as a team to make our stay great. There was a seamless connection between the butler, housekeeper, tracker, chef, guide, manager, etc. It was evident that their priority was to make our adventure full and enjoyable. Our family chalet was clean, and designed to see... More

Stayed at Simbavati River Lodge for 4 days in May 2016. Living in kind of a permanent tent with bathroom, toilet, air condition, own veranda was a pleasure and not far to go to the main building for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
