After a 45 minute drive from Hoedspruit airport and meandering through several private reserves, we entered an intermediary drop off point, signed in with a welcome drink, and climbed into their vehicle with Jacques, who would later be our tracker. He brought us to the lodge and we were welcomed again with a hot washcloth and another welcome drink. Emma,...

We had an awesome few days at the Monwana Game Lodge. Emma and Jacques were excellent hosts. The food was terrific and the safari drives were great. Jacques extensive knowledge of all wildlife made the trip enjoyable. We are birders, and although the focus of the trip was the mammal life, we knocked out over 60 birds- much due to...

Me & my partner stayed at Monwana lodge for 3 days. We had the BEST time ever. The lodge is peaceful and away from any civilisation. You can't even get there with a private car. The lodge is 4* however feels like 6*! Food was excellent and drinks were plenty. We couldn't say enough about the staff. Nikki was helpful...

Given the plethora of options across the Kruger area, we decided on this place. On arrival we discovered that we were the only ones there for a few days and therefore had nearly all private game drives which was a treat! Werner and Sydney did an excellent job of driving and tracking, so we got to see most of what...

I went to Monwana for photography. As I was alone I did not know what to expect. The familial atmosphere and lovely location were second to none. If I wanted to be alone it was possible but I if I wanted some interaction I could join other guests at the bar or at the dining table. The food was excellent!...

The game drives were superb and Jacques does his utmost to track the wildlife. We saw all of the big 5 and much more. He provides explanations about all sorts of animals. Arriving back at the lodge...

We stayed at the Monwana Game Lodge at the end of October. This had the potential for verging into the rainy season, but we were fortunate to have 3 dry days for our stay. The roads in the Thornybush Private Game Reserve (adjacent to Kruger National Park) are not paved and some are quite eroded already, so seriously rainy weather...

Everything about the place was great. Emma and Jacques were the perfect hosts who took a genuine interest in our well being. Jacques is passionate about the wildlife and was extremely kind to our 4 children taking plenty of time to answer the hundreds of questions he was bombarded with ! The food was amazing and the lodge's layout around...
