Stayed for 3 nights in March just before the lockdown, We were the only guests everyone else had cancelled. We had the room overlooking the waterhole. It was spacious, comfortable & private. It had an outdoor shower which was great & a lovely deck to sit outside & watch the elephants come to play. The food was super. Gino & Sully were our safari guides for early morning & evening. They were so enthusiastic & knowledgeable and we saw the big 5 on several occasions. Anita was very helpful making calls for us etc to our travel agent as we tried to change our flights home. Thank you to all the staff for a fantastic holiday and hope life will be back to normal soon.

What a perfect choice we made! The location, setting and accommodation were superb. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home by all the warm and friendly staff and were well looked after. The game drives exceeded our expectations and were enhanced by watching the skills of Gino, our ranger, working with Solly and Vusi, the trackers. We were so impressed by Gino's knowledge and enthusiasm of the wildlife. It really made it the best experience we could have had. Thank you to EVERYONE at Waterbuck for a wonderful experience.

I stayed at Waterbuck Lodge with a friend for three days in February and would highly recommend it. There are 4 individual lodges ( maximum 8 guests) which are well equipped with large beds and well appointed luxury bathrooms ( I enjoyed the outside shower!) We had a warm welcome from Odelia and found all the staff very friendly. The food was wonderful and freshly prepared. We ate all our meals with fellow guests which was lovely. The highlights of our stay were the amazing safari drives with Vusi, our tracker, and Roux, our ranger. They were both very knowledgeable and quickly found all of the big 5 plus lots of other animals to view. We even did an early morning treck guided by Roux through the bush. Words cannot describe what an amazing experience we had, especially our close encounters with the animals. During our stay I had a problem with some of my travel documents, but Odelia used her local contacts to help sort everything out. I was very grateful! Overall this is a fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend it. I hope to return!

Between Gino and Solly, who brought the bush alive on both drives and walks and Anita and her team who pampered us in the lodge, we had an amazing bush experience. After our drives or walk, when we saw all the big 5 and other less seen bush animals, we were always happy to return to the Lodge which felt like home from home, and where we knew wonderful meals awaited us and warm hospitality from all the staff. We look forward to our next visit.

What an unbelievable, quality and relaxing experience! The Big 5 was easy with quality ranger Gino and tracker Solly at the helm. We have learned that there is far more about the Bush experience than just The Big 5 and were truly impressed with the knowledge shared by Gino and Solly. Back at the lodge we were spoiled by Anita and her team which made our stay truly memorable. GREAT hospitality and an 5* experience all round made this an unforgettable experience. We will most definitely return to this well kept secret in Thornybush.
