We can’t express enough how incredible our stay was at Saseka. We only stayed for 2 nights and we were so sad to go- it was the most action packed part of our whole week stay in Kruger ! The accommodation, the housekeeping, the food, and the service team were always spot on and everyone was so so friendly. We were so lucky to have the best guide and tracker, Rudi and Jordan. They were so knowledgeable, experienced and made us feel so safe and ensured we had the best time. They worked amazing together and are both incredibly skilled.. just watching them work/track together and predicting what was going to happen was exciting enough- let alone seeing all the wildlife. The highlight of our trip was getting engaged, and everyone at Saseka made it so special for us. We 100% will be back, maybe even for the wedding 😉 we highly recommend staying at Saseka! Saseka delivers in every aspect. Hosts are friendly, effective, informative, attentive and the list goes on. The communal spaces are modern, yet the mix of antique and modern furniture and earthy textures fits perfectly on the edge of the riverbed. The suites are fit for a king... including your own private pool. Food... with every meal younthinknit cannot get better... and then the next meal it does!! Variety, choices, flavours, colours, tastes... paired with the attentative table host makes for feast at every meal time. On safari (game drive) the experience continues at the 5star standard. If 5star Safari is what you ate looking for, then Saseka should be on your list.

We stayed 3 nights at Saseka and it was the most amazing experience. Photos do not do it justice, the lodge itself is just incredible - nothing to fault. The rooms magnificent and every detail has been thought of. Private pool and outdoor shower were such a bonus. Do ask for a dinner in your room - they go above and beyond to make it special, we even enjoyed a lunch by our pool. Game drives - we saw everything and more and the guides and tackers were outstanding - we had Sean/Shaun and Anthony - great team! Cannot wait to go back!!

The last time I went out to the “Bush” (on safari) was in 2010. Coming from South Africa that is really shocking but the prices over the years have just reached eye watering highs and I couldn’t justify it. Although Corona is terrible ... it has opened the eyes of Bush lodges to offer South African rates and we can all enjoy the Bush again ! Now truly is the perfect time to enjoy our incredible lodges and South African wildlife - all at our doorstep !! (let’s hope lodges keep SA rates going into the future) I looked into a few different lodges and Saseka in Thorny Bush came up as a great option. Reasons I enjoyed it : - Close to Hoedspruit Airport (40 mins) Direct flights from Cape Town - Thorny Bush borders Kruger National Park (Big lots of game) - It is a new camp (everything has a new feeling) Beautifully interior designed. - Rooms are great sizes with incredible linen on the beds (comfy cozy) - Each room had a private pool (there is no communal pool) - Food is amazing ! Delicious (downside you eat too much) - Staff great ! - Animal viewing five stars - Spa at main lodge massage was to die for A few cons to consider - No watering hole at the camp - so when you’re eating / sitting at lodge you don’t really see any game. - Our room didn’t have a view it was more a view of Bush. Which isn’t bad but something to consider - Bathroom Bedroom sort of “all in one”. Well designed but no separation (might be an issue if you’re sharing with someone you don’t know well?!) - So much food - great but phew I ate tooo much - No gym ( I think you could use the one at main lodge but this is a little drive away).

Hi. Thank you so much for your feedback, we really appreciate all your comments. There is so much water around at the moment that even the waterholes don't seem to always attract the game, it is a pity that no animals came down the riverbed though. I think all the rain always explains the "bush view", usually you can see the riverbed, but perhaps we could do a bit of bush clearing in front of some of the more overgrown tents, we will pass this feedback on ASAP to the team of the ground. All your points are valid and we will definitely take them into consideration. Thank you for taking the time to give us this honest feedback.

As a birthday celebration we spent 4 nights at Saseka with friends - what a wonderful experience. The tents were wonderfully appointed, beautifully decorated with an incredibly comfortable bed. The outside shower was the highlight though and you had to keep reminding yourself we live in a water scarce country and to limit those showers. The food and service was lovely and Kedris made sure our every need was attended to - she also pulled out all the stops to arrange a special surprise birthday dinner and cake for my husband. We had fantastic game viewing and Joe and Jordan are legends - leopard (twice), lion (4 times) - once with Cubs, wild dog, hyena (with Cubs), rhino, hippo, Buffalo and many antelope, giraffe and zebra. We lacked for nothing and every game drive was a treat. Add this one to your list and book your trip today!!!!
