Even before our arrival things service had a personal touch! They guided me on which flight to take and how to organize the part of my trip that included Krueger. As for the rides, we got to see everything except a hippo. On our first drive we saw a Leopard with her kill. It was breath taking! Our guides John... More

Even before arrival, everything at Thornybush was outstanding. They helped organize the small plane flight from Johannesburg. Upon arrival, helped explain all the safari options available, and shared with my wife and I the incredible meals we could expect during our 3 night-4 day stay. After a scrumptious lunch, we met our guide Jack, and our tracker Ishmael, and the... More

This was the fourth time we stayed at the Nkelenga tented camp, a satellite camp of the main game lodge. A self catering camp, ideal for family or a group of friends. The camp is fully serviced, you have to do your own cooking. We stayed for 6 days this time. We had wonderful sightings od the big 5 and... More

We have been to many game lodges in S Africa and consider Thornybush Lodge to be good but not outstanding. The lodge itself was very nicely decorated; the food was very nice (lots of salads and vegetables); most of the staff were pleasant and professional; the game viewing was reasonable (given the 2 year drought which is affecting all of... We had an amazing stay at Thornybush in July. The lodge is located 40 minutes from the airport, which is very convenient. Everything was so perfect : from the pickup to check out everybody was there to make our stay very special. The lodge is tastefully decorated and the beautiful deck, dining area overlooking the water hole, allowed us to... More

Coming to Thornybush was the last part of our South African adventure and we saved the best till last! It was like stepping into a story book from childhood, the minute we arrived we could see wildlife surrounding the lodge. We were greeted by Catherine who made us feel very welcome and helped us start our Safari experience. Our little house for... More

We have visited a number of Game lodges, and spent three days at Thornybush Game Lodge. Wonderful staff, and amazing Game. Each game drive was an adventure... you never knew what to expect around the next corner. We saw leopards, and the Big 5 on our first day. Our Ranger and Tracker really worked extremely hard to make this a... More

Newly renovated room is very nice, but lacks the African theme. Housekeeping does an amazing job, turning on the electric blanket on top of the bed was a nice touch. Gaming was fun and the ranger and tracker were very knowledgeable and super nice. We saw the big five. Food was okay, not great. Waitress could be more friendly.

It had been a magnificent stayed at Thornybush Game Lodge! What an amazing experience we had, everything was so perfect. 2 Game drives a day and see the big 5 almost each time. Staff is great, the rangers tracking the animals, going inside the bush to get really close to the animals. Highly recommended.
