After more than 25 camp experiences over 20 years we have developed a way of evaluating these wildlife lodges. The andBeyond (horrible name) lodges are among the best at what they do. Cost. Reasonable for what they provide. Compare going to Walt Disney World, staying in one of their resorts, dining at their 5 star restaurants, park admissions, local transport... More

My husband's first safari and he couldn't stop smiling. From the time we were greeted by Dennis, the manager, at the front of the lodge to the last wave off after 4 nights, my husband couldn't stop raving about the very professional and friendly staff, unbelievable accommodations and fantastic food. This was truly one of the best experiences I have... More

We left Ngala tented camp today and I just want to go back! They have worked out the formula and get it right. I can't fault it. The most amazing safari's - with our ranger Scott and tracker Ernest (Ernie). Absolutely unbelievable. We have been spoiled for anything to come. They went out of their way to make us feel... More

Ngala Tented Camp has a very special place in our hearts and each year it draws us back to be cosseted in luxury and looked after by the most amazing team who epitomise the very highest standards one has come to expect of andBeyond. They are all perfect ambassadors for the brand and collectively left no stone unturned in their... More

This was our first trip to Africa and we could not have been happier with the advice and guidance our travel advisor Fred Mittermayer when booking this trip. Our accommodations were over the top! So romantic, scenery was breathtaking, the animal viewing was amazing! We felt like royalty, every detail of our trip was over the top! The camp was... More

This is sited on the banks of a dry river bed, but the tents were not Glastonbury-type but luxurious with hot and cold running water, outside private shower area, a bath and twin basins with aircon unit which warmed our tent. It is cold, so prepare accordingly, especially for the 6.15am drives. But they provide blankets and hot water bottles!... More

We had an amazing visit to the the tented camp. It was our second &Beyond location of the week and it was a perfect end to our first safari experience. Staying in tented cabins made the experience truly exceptional. We woke each morning to a light coffee/tea/juice and biscuits and then off we went for the morning game drive just... More

we just came back from 2 weeks in South Africa, and this camp exceeded my expectations! everything is *perfect* and really designed to make you feel at home...warm, welcoming and efficient staff, lovely tented camps [nicer than some hotel rooms i've stayed in], gorgeous bath including outdoor shower, fully stocked bar/amenities in each tent including different plugs for electric outlets,... The lodge is designed and decorated in an authentic way-- the buildings blend beautifully into the typography. The tents are beautifully appointed and lack nothing. The highlight are the animals that drink daily from the swimming pool, most notably elephants and Cape buffalo. The pool water, however, was cloudy and the pool floor was slimy.

This safari tent was AMAZING! The tent had heated running water, heating, air conditioning, and heated blankets. It had two bathroom sinks, bathroom, bath tub and outdoor shower. All of the doors lock, and there is a locking safe in the tent. The staff at this resort were beyond expectations. Our ranger, Lee-Anne, was the most knowledgeable person about animals... More
