Gomo Gomo was small enough to feel personal and friendly. There are plenty of 'posher' lodges, with better facilities. And smaller jeeps (theirs seated 9). But there was something very 'fitting' about Gomo Gomo; it seems appropriate to the environment, and its understated offering makes for a very relaxed experience. The lack of gym facilities didn't bother me (although the lack... More

Fantastic place All the positive reviews are accurate and I can't recommend this lodge highly enough. The rangers are very friendly and helpful, they have a real passion for the reserve and you as guests. The accommodation is outstanding and exceeds all expectations. It is the attention to detail that we really appreciated with the rooms too. The catering staff... More

What can I say- Gomo Gomo is amazing. We saw so many animals- all of the big 5 plus leopards, cheetahs, zebra, warthogs, hippos etc etc. Our rangers HJ and Ivan were so friendly and knowledgeable, as was Bernard, who wasn't our ranger but who we chatted to during meals. Liesel the front of house manager was lovely too and... More

Gomo Gomo was our first African safari experience and it exceeded our expectations. The lodge is approximately 45 minutes from the Hoedspruit airport and has an excellent location next to a watering hole. There are chairs by the pool and along the watering hole so you can relax and wait for elephants, warthogs, impala, etc. to come down for some... More

My husband and I traveled to South Africa from Canada for a two-week holiday. The highlight was to be our Safari adventure and for that we chose Gomo Gomo Game Lodge. We chose Gomo Gomo partially based on previous reviews and also because it is a unfenced private reserve. Also was noted in the Eyewitness travel books as a premier... More

We have just come back from our safari at gomo gomo game lodge and I cannot fault anything about the safari! We stayed for 3 nights and had 6 game drives and a 11am bush walk! We were greeted by our our ranger, who settled us in and offered us lunch as soon as we got there, his name was... More

Stayed here for 5 nights which really allowed us to get the most out of our stay. We saw 6 out of the maginifent 7, only missing Cheetah. Being a private lodge you can get very close to the wildlife. Our ranger was HJ, and he certainly earns his money; ranger, receptionist, bar man... The food was very good, although... More

In this reserve they are the only 1 of 28 lodges that allows babies to stay - a welcome for couples with children who want to get away to a game lodge. I really battled to find a place that accommodates babies. They even allowed my baby to go on the game drive, and it really was no big deal!... More

We very much enjoyed our time at Gomo Gomo, but their strapline of “welcome to the wild” is worth bearing in mind. The wildlife was the highlight of our stay. The accommodation was fine for the amount of time that you spend in it – most time in the middle of the day is spent relaxing by the waterhole, keeping... More
