Take a look at any other hotel reviews on Trip Advisor, and you aren’t going to find any as good as Kapama’s. The whole experience was truly first class all the way: accommodations, service, staff, game drivers/trackers, food, drinks, amenities (great wifi), common areas, etc. You feel completely safe, welcomed, and comfortable. I could go on and on about the... More

Two wonderful nights and four drives plus one bush walk at Kapama Buffalo Camp. The accommodation was excellent and the food delicious. Management and staff could not have been any better. The highlight for us was seeing the Big 5 in their habitat and Almero our ranger guide and Nico our tracker could not have been better. Their expertise, knowledge... More

Four nights and 8 drives at Kapama Buffalo Camp a private reserve next to Kruger Park. The accommodations were excellent and comfortable and the food delicious. Staff could not have been better. A++ experience. Accommodations and staff top-notch. Cannot come up with one non-positive comment. Everything was perfect. Rangers and Trackers phenomenal. Resort staff great. Exclusive nature of the small lodge makes everyone feel special. Highly recommend.

We visited Kapama Game Reserve in Sept, our second visit to this fantastic reserve. This time we stayed at the smaller Buffalo Camp and we were not disappointed. Everything about this camp was great. The team at Buffalo are extremely professional and certainly customer focused. Joe our ranger and Foster our tracker were excellent. Both are extremely knowledgeable but also... More

On going to a game reserve the first thing that comes to mind is that there needs to be an abundance of animals to see. But we also realised how important it is that you enjoy the company of the rangers. We spent two nights in the Buffalo Camp and the last night in Kapama's River Lodge. Our stay at... More

Our time at Buffalo camp was so special. Amazing accommodation in "tents" that were such a treat - sitting on our deck and looking down at four legged visitors was so exciting. Very informative safari guides who went out of their way to make it all "a trip of a lifetime", five star meals and we were treated with such... More

Of the three camps we visited while in South Africa Sept/Oct 2014, Buffalo Camp is my favorite. Charming, small, personal, rustic, luxurious, amazing, all of this and more. This camp has it all. We were in the Leopard tent which was perfect for us. We originally tried to stay 4 nights but since a wedding party had booked the camp... More

We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Buffalo camp. Luxury tents were beautiful, views of the bush from everywhere in the tent even the shower! It was 30C when we arrived and had cool cloths waiting for us upon arrival. We were in Buffalo Tent which was right next to the bar area- very convenient. The pool was a crisp... More

When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed on a cold night with hot towels and hot chocolate for my shivering son, which set the tone for our stay. The accommodation is described as a luxury tented camp, but it really was so much more than that. The tents were spacious and beautifully designed, with views of the bush from all... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique and intimate experience in the African bush. It is ideal for discovering big game Africa in true safari tented style without compromising on comfort.Ten luxury build canvas tents, each sleeping two, are set on wooden decks built on stilts over a steep-sided riverbank. Wooden walkways interconnect the rooms, which are all in the upper reaches of tall riverine trees. The river below rarely flows and antelopes are seen daily walking along the sandy riverbed. Each tented room has all the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, safe, writing table, wardrobe, low impact climate control, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. The communal areas of Buffalo Camp are on the riverbank, where gardens of succulent aloes and euphorbia are tended around the thatched bar, dining room, pool terrace and campfire. But the thick African bush is just a glance away, inhabited by animals like lion, hyena and jackal whose calls can be heard in the dead of night. Lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow at night under the trees, creating a special intimate ambience particular to Buffalo Camp. With a maximum of 20 guests at Buffalo Camp, special attention is paid to personal service and the staff become like friends. Kapama Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush. ... more   less
