Did a lot of research before booking at Kapama. It was so confusing between all the private ones and the locations. Basically the difference is in the room and food. And some private reserves may have more of one type of animal than another. Kapama river lodge is more hotel style than private villas. The spa room we had had...

Me and my family stayed here for four days in june and it was amazing. I did not know what to espect since i have never been in south-africa or on a safari before. Kapama river lodge is a luxury hotel with a "african lodge" feel to it. Our room was beautyful and had view over the savanna. If you...

My 19-year old daughter and I stayed at Kapama River Lodge for four nights in June 2015. We were traveling with a tour group so everything was arranged for us. Upon arriving at the airport in Hoedspruit, we met our ranger, JT and tracker, Michael, who were our safari guides throughout our stay. These two men were amazing! Their knowledge...

Wow..what an experience. To be honest... I do not know where to begin. Kapama was so amazing mere words cannot convey my experience. The game reserve was fantastic. The rangers and trackers were highly skilled and knowledgeable. The proximity of observation with the animals was very up close and personal. More than that I was very impressed at the skill...

You arrive into Hoedspruit from Capetown and drive straight into the reserve, within minutes you've started seeing wildlife and within 20 minutes you are at the lodge. The set up, the staff, the location, the food, the facilities (spa!) and the game viewing are second to none...I cannot recommend highly enough.

Many have given the Kapama Private Game Reserve high marks. We would be one of them! Our recent trip to the River Lodge was excellent in every way. Our Ranger, John and his Tracker, Fanie were the best and we got to see most of the animals available in the reserve. These guys work together very closely to make sure...

Absolutely wonderful stay! Terrific facilities and food. Very African feel to it. The service was impeccable. You will most likely see the "Big Five" animals and more; we did. We watched as a group of lions hunted a porcupine from about 10-40 feet! Dino, our driver, was an absolutely terrific guide through the reserve. His knowledge and enthusiasm about wildlife...
