Our charming 17 unit inn offers the distinct personal attention that every traveler desires for a relaxing mountain get-a-way. Our regard to detail and customer service is something that you just can't acquire in a chain lodging atmosphere. We are located one mile south of Mid-Town Ruidoso, close to restaurants, hiking and skiing, historic sites, shopping, and nightlife. Relax on the front lawn during a summer evening on a porch swing while watching the hummingbirds, or unwind after a day on the slopes in our unique outdoor barrel sauna. All guest rooms are spotlessly clean, feature wifi, direct TV, private baths, microwave ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers and Dohm sleep sound machines. I have been coming to Ruidoso for many decades and I have found the Sitzmark Chalet Inn to be my favorite place to stay, a lot of things have come and gone over the years but it is nice to see the Chalet has kept its original vibe intact. I guess I am partial to the feeling of the swiss alpine decor, and my love for snow skiing in the mountains, it truly captures that cozy warm cottage serenity. I have always been met with a kind smile from the staff and owners, the rooms are comfortable and the location is perfect for experiencing the magic of Ruidoso.

Our family chose this quaint, quiet, clean and affordable chalet to be our three-day home away from home in Ruidoso, simply because of the congenial managers.
We called late in the evening to make last minute reservations. Ivan pleasantly answered the phone, welcomed us, and left a room key along with the light on for us.
Each morning we enjoyed homemade muffins, hot coffee and friendly people. The managers, Heather and Ivan are genuinely kind and hospitable people who care about you and your comfortable experience.
This place is our newfound treasure in Ruidoso. Thank you Heather and Ivan. We will be back soon!

This is a very cute hotel. It has a lot of character (in a good way) and very friendly and helpful owners. I wish I could have given it more stars, but there were a few major problems.
The first was the bed. We had a queen sized bed but it was very uncomfortable. We both kept sliding to the dent in the middle of the bed. It also telegraphed every movement you made across the bed, so just turning over would shake my boyfriend awake, and vise versa. I think new beds/mattresses would make a huge difference.
The second was the AC. It couldn't get the room cool. We set it as low as possible and it ran continuously but never cooled the room. It is only May, and the outside temp wasn't that hot.
I also get frustrated when there is only one nightstand. My boyfriend uses a CPAP so if there is only one, it goes to him. So I am left putting my phone, water, Kindle, etc. on the floor next to the bed. There was plenty of room for a nightstand, so why not put one there? Or if no nightstand, how about a kind size bed. I could forgive no nightstand if the bed took up all the space, but that wasn't the case.
One more of the positives was the little sitting area out front, which was used by a lot of the guests since dine-in is still not allow in NM. It was a very cute area with nice places to sit. We had dinner out there both nights.

We spent almost a week here in April. Room was comfortable with microwave and refrigerator. As one commentator said, room could use better lighting, but lighting was adequate and everything else was so good that this was easily overlooked. Bathroom had large shower with fresh smelling soaps and thick towels. Room windows opened to a shaded courtyard with picnic tables, several benches and other seating areas that we enjoyed plus a sauna that looked good, too.. Every morning, 3 types of freshly made muffins and high quality flavorful coffee were available in the lobby area. Staff were all pleasant. Parking lot was very convenient for access to our room. Inn decor was unique, pleasant with a ski emphasis. Bonus: prices were reasonable, windows opened to a pleasant hallway and outside, and inn had a great ice machine. We would choose this Inn again.

Our stay at The Sitzmark Chalet started off with a complete, most welcome briefing of things to do and great eating places. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable of the area. The room, #18 was ground floor, large, clean, well appointed and stocked with toiletries, extra blanket, quiet fridge and heater. The price was very reasonable, which included complementary coffee and muffins in the morning. We highly recommend Sitzmark for anyone visiting Ruidoso NM

First of all, I would just like to add my voice to all the nice comments. This is a wonderfully cozy, comfortable and friendly inn. The team really takes customer service to a higher level; they cannot do enough for you.
A well kept, comfortable room made our stay in this beautiful area a real holiday. Decor is thoughtful, with pine log beds, South Western bed spreads and all spotlessly clean. Air conditioning kept the room cool and comfortable. The bbq (natural gas) were a real plus; we cooked on them every night. Muffins available every morning, along with coffee and hot chocolate. A very convenient location as well.
Standards of cleanliness and housekeeping were tip top.
On top of all these plus points was the great value for money. We highly recommend staying here. Thank you.

This was a very nice stay in a comfortable room. It is rustic but has a lot of charm. They have a sauna that was very nice to use. They also have fresh ground coffee and fresh baked muffins for breakfast. The lady who checked us in resides there and was very nice and helpful about taking a scenic route to White Sands.

A family member recommended Sitzmark after it was featured on a travel show. It was so cute, clean and very cozy. They also offer homemade muffins and great coffee in the mornings. I hope I have another chance to visit Ruidoso soon. Highly recommend a stay here!!

Stayed here while driving from Dallas to Seattle Wa. We are visiting several National Parks on this trip and stopped for one night at this cute and comfortable inn. Room was clean and quiet. Easy access to restaurants and bars in town. Received a call that we had left a pair of headphones behind day we left and manager was very helpful in mailing them to us. Excellent service at a great price! Thank you

I'm sorry but for insurance reasons we can not accept pets. I know the LaQuinta is pet friendly.

Honestly I can't tell you if there will be snow or not. We have had a late snow this year so it is possible. All I can tell you is the weather here changes every 2 to 3 hrs.

We make homemade muffins and coffee every morning from 7:30 - 9:30 A.M.
Ski Apache, approximately 18 miles north of Ruidoso, is arguable our annual, most-iffy skiing area in New Mexico, because of its southern-most location. At present, Ski Apache reports 4" of snow base, so you could probably find some show for "playing in" there. You, and others wanting to see some snow, can keep track of the snow depths at New Mexico's ski website.
