We just stayed in Story Book Cabin's #22 Tree House. 3 adults and 3 older kids. Very nice accommodations, well equipped, nice layout, beautiful! Note: The weather was perfect fall-like weather so we did not have to worry about snow. However we did notice that the road to the cabin could be a bit difficult to manage in snowy or... More

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you had a wonderful time and that the weather cooperated! We are aware of the road leading to the cabin and will be having it graded and resurfaced in advance of winter. Of course even with a new surface, snow and ice can make driving that road a bit treacherous... More

Our vacation goals were to find a place a whole lot cooler than our hometown Tucson (yes, by 30+ degrees), GREEN rather than desert, peaceful, and near a brook. We wanted to color, read, play cards and board games and basically NAP! All were achieved in renting cabin #33. This is a managed cabin, so is away from the general... More

Thank you very much for your review and very glad that you enjoyed your visit and your wonderful review! Cabin #33 is a favorite among our repeat guests (as well as first timers) and the sound of the river certainly can't be beat! Also glad that you went off the beaten path and enjoyed the 'local' scene that makes this... More

First time back to visit Ruidoso in years. With all the growth in the upper canyon & so many cabins to choose from, I'm so very happy and satisfied with my choice of Story Book! Friendly staff and clean, comfy cabin with all the choice amenities. Will choose Story Book again!

We stayed at Story Book Cabins over the Labor Day holiday. We stayed in the Moose cabin. It was wonderful. Very clean, cozy, and the decor was very nice. The property was so nice. We will make this our new place to stay when visiting Ruidoso.

We have stayed several times at Storybook Cabins usually in the "Little Bear" cabin. We have always enjoyed our time at Storybook. The Upper Canyon location is very nice, quite and peaceful which is what we are looking for. The cabin is great - love the deck - like watching the deer come by. Excellent staff - always helpful. We... More

I would not recommend Cabin #14. We stay in Cabin #14 Sunday thru Tuesday night. Pictures from website were true to actual interior of cabin, but not the private back deck, which is NOT private. We found the king bed comfortable, more than ample bath towels, great wi-fi, comfortable leather couch and over stuffed chair with ottoman, The dining table... More

Thank you for your review and all of the positive comments you listed, yet we are saddened that the cabin was not up to your expectations and ultimately reviewed very negatively. As stated in your review, the bathroom was not up to a standard that you would expect from us - human error can sometimes occur and had something been... More

The cabins have recently been renovated. The furnishing inside and outside are very comfortable. We rented cabin #3 which was set back from the road so it was very quiet. There are some books, cards and dominos in the cabin and a DVD library at the office to check out. The landscaping was very nice. I really enjoyed sitting on... More

Thank you so much for your review and we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay! We are going through a tremendous amount of sugar water - those hummingbirds drain the feeders about as quickly as we fill them! We hope to see yo again soon - especially when the heat cranks up later in the summer in Texas! More

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights, and by the end of the first day we were already planning more stays. We stayed in cabin #1 (Knotty Pine), which was fairly close to the office. Even so, it was incredibly peaceful without any disruptions at all. The fireplace was charming and fun, and the kitchen is fully equipped. There... More
