Five stars all around. We preferred a winter (July) safari as the vegetation is sparser (better viewing) and the highest temperatures are generally in the low 20s, perfect for those of us who are heat intolerant. It can be chilly in the mornings but Notten's provides the perfect antidote of blankets and hot water bottles. The pleasant day time temperatures... More

We have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at Nottens bush camp. We were lucky enough to see 3 different leopard sightings where one was eating the remains of an Impala he had carried high up a leadwood tree with some hyenas waiting patiently at the bottom for any scraps he dropped. Another leopard had just killed a... More

April this year we did our first bush safari in South Africa with our two teenage girls and had the pleasure to stay in Notten's Bush Camp. We enjoyed the camp itself with spacy, nicely furbished cottages and a great pool area. Also, the food was simply great and nicely prepared, including one supern bbq one evening. And most importantly... More

Our family group of 5, ranging in age from 10 to 72, spent the last 3 nights of our S. African tour at Notten's. Our experience can be summarized by" amazing". The private cottages provided comfort, privacy and views of wild life. The use of only candles and kerosene lamps gave an air of authenticity and elegance. The food was... More

I love the rhythm of life on safari and no one does it better than the folks at Nottens. The personal early wake up knock on your door announces the beginning of a great adventure. ALL of the staff is gracious, thoughtful, and efficient. After a cup of coffee it's off to search for game and we were never disappointed.... More

I spent quite a bit of time looking at all the bush camps in the area. Criteria included rustic, maybe no electricity, but comfortable and good guide reviews. We did not want to stay in a large resort, wanted limited guests. Notten's is the place. From the airport it is about 1 1/2 hours by taxi/jeep through some towns and... More

I would recommend Notten's Bush Camp to anyone wishing to have a unique African Safari experience. I was there for three nights in July 2016 with my husband, our daughters (age 11 and 14) and my 73 year old mother. We all feel that Notten’s is a very special place, and Dave (one of the Notten family members), is the... More

Our first stay at Notten's will not be our last. Only home for 1 week & I'm already figuring out how/when we can get back there! The people are amazing-many generations who have been there for decades. From Dave, the owner, to Joe our ranger, we were always in professional, competent and loving hands. The food was fresh, abundant and... More

This was the second camp I stayed at on my recent three weeks in South Africa and Zambia. It's in a great setting with most rooms and the public rooms overlooking the bush. Fun to eat lunch and watch the baboons running about, or an Impala or some other interesting animal. My cabin was large and very comfortable. My bed... More
