This is a first rate camp and excellent safari. It is a huge advantage that they have access to Sabi Sand (preferred) and Kruger. The hosts were excellent and accommodating and the tents were 5-star glamping. Drikus was our guide and couldn't imagine a better one. The food was splendid. I booked last minute during school holiday so this was... More

As our first Safari experience, we could not have asked for more. It was even beyond expectations. From the very first moment we felt at home and welcomed. I am sure there are plenty of places were you can see the Big Five (even if we saw all of them in 2.5 days!!!) and sleep in comfortable tents, but what... More

As a first safari experience, Tydon Safari Camp set the bar so high. The accommodations were cozy and well-styled--you felt one with nature yet also quite comfortable. Upon arrival, we immediately felt welcomed and at home. We didn't have to worry about anything during our stay. It was the perfect getaway. The food was delicious and there was always plenty... Only having 3 days in Johannesburg narrowed our options a little, that said we were more than happy with the professional service offered by Tydon safaris. Picked up from our hostel in J-burg at 7.30am on the first day and driven in a private car to the national park had us arriving early afternoon in time to settle in to... More

Tydon Safari Camp is literally at the gate of Sabi Sands, which is arguably the best safari location in the world with numerous species including the big five in abundance. It is adjacent to the Kruger, without any dividing fences. It also has the best and most knowledgeable safari guides. Generally Sabi Sands costs a fortune, because it is a... More

Tydon campsite is an abundance of beauty, warmth, and knowledge. The guides are very experienced and friendly. The staff is generous and helpful. And of course, the animals are incredible. I especially appreciated the communal atmosphere of dining together with other visitors. I met people from all parts of the world. This was truly an unforgettable experience! P.S. Be sure... More

My husband and I stayed at Tydon for 5 days and 4 nights and we had an excellent time! Tydon definitely exceeded any expectations that we had. We were able to see the Big Five during our stay, which we grew to learn isn't a guarantee. Our room was very comfortable and the attached bathroom was great. Every meal we... More

I stayed at Tydon Safari Camp for the first time a few weeks ago (late May 2016). We stayed for 3 nights / 4 days before moving on to a self-drive at Kruger. In short, I would very highly recommend staying at Tydon: - The tents are great: spacious, clean, good bathroom facilities. - The camp itself is delightful. The... More

For an authentic and outstanding bushveld and wildlife experience at a price that can't be beat, Tydon is tops. Having had a marvellous time at the Tydon Safari Camp in March 2015, I returned to it in May 2016, with an adult son, with high expectations which were more than met. In June 2016, we spent time at the Tydon... More

Nestling in the shade of indigenous trees, this visual oasis of inspirational elements combines to culminate in this magnificent Tented Safari Camp. Intimate and comfortable, yet simplistic combined with excellent service, the Camp creates a traditional African Safari feel to your journey, and you can be forgiven for thinking you were transported back in time to an unspoilt and unexplored Africa.
