I can't say enough good things about this place. Affordable, clean, professional...

This was our second trip to the Alpine Lodge- Both experiences were nothing less than perfect.

The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean! The beds were comfortable, the view were awesome, and I liked how convenient the location was- The staff is friendly and professional each time we've interacted with them, I enjoyed that they took time out of their day to talk to me and my daughter and our friends both the second time and the first time. They really do care about their guest and pay attention to detail.

The river is right next to the facility, they have grilles and patios to accommodate guest, and the balcony view was awesome.

Great location in the middle of town. Most can walk to diners, shopping or the local grocery store. Lodge is set at the base of the mountain and perfect location to ski lift without driving, a light walk through the parking lot, over the bridge and the lift is right there. Reasonable prices and great locals who are vet kind.

Very nice motel. Ample parking, nice grassy open area by the river outside our room. Nice deck to sit on in the morning and evening. Room was small, but met our needs. I must comment on the shower, as I had great water pressure, something so many places now restrict. When you spend all day riding on a motorcycle, the last thing you want is a shower that barely trickles water. This one didn’t. It was great and relaxing. We were able to walk into town for dinner, and although we skipped breakfast, could have easily walked to a breakfast joint. If you are a skier, this lodge is at the base of the main ski lift in town. You can walk to it. Would definitely stay here again. May bring my dirt bike and buddies next time and hit the OHV trails.

The staff was polite and very efficient. We were allowed to check in a few hours early.

We stayed in 22 and let me just say it was SMAAAAALLLLL. In a room condo with four adults and 4 children I felt we were constantly moving around each other like a game of tetris. Additionally, there is no closet space or drawers. That made it tough, especially with all of our ski gear. (no ski storage either.) The TV was grainy at best and the flu for the fire place was not operating properly which meant we had to keep the door to the fire open. We were provided a small bundle of wood but additional wood could be purchased. In all my years of ski trips this was a first and probably one of the biggest disappointments.

The beds were very comfortable.

The 10 minute walk to the main chalet (ski school was not bad either.) If you opt for the three bedroom condo #22 I would make sure you're party is comprised of a lot of kids or small adults.

Once again, I want to be clear that the staff was very polite, but not sure I would stay here based on the negatives.

Thank you for the review. The 3 bedroom cabin is one of our best-rented rooms, but we know the living area is smaller compared to other rooms like the 4 bedroom. Alpine Lodge has about 20 unique room accommodations to choose from that can sleep anywhere from 2 people up to 12 people. Alpine Lodge is at the base of the Platinum lift and about 2.5 blocks from the Main Ski Chalet. We sit right on Main Street with a walk anywhere location perfect for any season.

We stayed during the summer for my birthday and the staff and management were very courteous and helpful. The king room that we had was clean but old. The property is very old and the wooden benches outside the rooms (on the balcony) are very flimsy. For the price of the room/stay I expected the property to be nicer. It was pleasant that the river was right outside our room and there was a nice lawn for frisbee, horseshoes, etc.

Thank you for the review! Alpine Lodge was established in 1953 and has been a historic landmark in Red River ever since. Our lodge sits on 4 acres of private property with the river running down one side of the property and Main Street on the other making a great walk anywhere location with some of the best mountain town amenities. Since taking over ownership in late 2017 we have been making huge strides in upgrading our lodge with newer amenities and updates to our rooms and have many more planned in the future. We hope to see you again!

The location is great. Hotel is older, rooms are a little small. Pricing is very resort based and you are paying for location. The hotel is still operating under COVID-19. There is no housekeeping during your stay. You must empty your own trash, put laundry outside from them to tend to. They have only one housekeeper for 48 rooms. They still charge full rate for limited service. Just be prepared.

Hi Shamerider, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As businesses in the state of NM try to navigate thru our state's pandemic protocol, we are doing our best to find a balance between the state and our guest's needs. The Alpine employs 4 full-time housekeepers and we value them as part of our amazing team. Our lodge is in a great location for all winter and even summertime guests and activities so whether you choose to say with us again or another lodge option, we hope you continue to come and enjoy this incredible small mountain resort town.

This was our first time to visit Red River, New mexico. Our room at this lodge was clean and roomy. It is an older place but still very clean. There was no elevator so it was a little difficult to get our bags upstairs. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The lodge is conveniently located next to the ski lift and right across the street from the restaurants we enjoyed the most during our stay. I do recommend this place to stay and would stay here again myself.

Cabin was clean, had all essentials and was easy walking distance to the ski lift. (Not the main base.) I rated it excellent as check in was easy, cabin was clean, had everything we needed, and was walking distance to the lift. Be aware this is an old cabin that has been kept up over the years. Low ceiling, like a cabin. One bathroom was tiny where they squeezed in a second bathroom. Just be aware this is a small cabin. Has an entry way for boot and coats. We enjoyed the living room and stove. Hot tub was nice after a day of skiing.

Thank you for the great review! The Alpine Cabin has been here since Alpine Lodge was established in 1953 and is a great piece of Red River history. We do know that the bathrooms are a bit small in there with it being an older cabin but we sure do love the charm it has to offer. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know that you enjoyed your time here with us and home to see you again!

Three former smaller suites have been combined to make one big, four bedroom rental. This was perfect for the ten of us. Three bedrooms with a bath could be closed off on one side of the rental. Another bedroom and bath were off the living room. Two futons in the living room converted to full-sized beds (linens provided). Then there was a huge kitchen (with a full bath to the side) with ample seating for dining and playing games. The kids also loved playing outside with new friends and swinging and playing horseshoes. Teens enjoyed the hot tub. We sat around the fire at the firepit. We stay here every time we come, but this was the first time to bring our whole family, and they also enjoyed it. The new owners (2017) have been making some nice improvements. We made some wonderful memories.

This is a great place to stay. The lodge is older, but very quaint, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owner Vicki is so kind and answers all your questions and more about the town, restaurants, etc. The lobby area has a nice sitting area with a fireplace and free coffee bar. You can also get ice and a vending machine for drinks. Our room had plenty of towels, soap, small trial size shampoo and conditioners and lotion. You are able to check out a hair dryer at the front desk if needed. There was a coffee pot that makes 4 cups with regular and decaffeinated coffee. We also had a mini fridge in our room, which was really convenient. There were also 2 nice chairs that were recliners and we were able to sit and watch the snow fall. Very nice!
The lodge is close to a lot of restaurants and, the grocery store, Der Market, is close by. Everything is within walking distance. We will definitely return next winter to this lodge. It's perfect for a wonderful winter vacation.
