Don't do it. Did not get what we called for and reserved. There are little notes everywhere telling you what to do and what not to do and what they will charge you if you fail to adhere to the rules. It was run down. Not happy
We've been staying at Riverside Lodge & Cabins in Red River for years, and they're updating all the flooring and bathrooms - no more old carpet. These units are fantastic for a family getaway. Grills, play area complete with a stage coach and old time metal horse swings, a basketball hoop, a hot tub (once it is repaired/inspected) - our grandkids had a spectacular time. It's right next to the city park, too, with even more play equipment. The kitchens are fully stocked with coffee maker, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, soap. TV's are modern and work well, if the channel selection is limited. Wifi worked fine. The new owners are really doing a great job keeping the 1940s property updated yet charmingly cabin like. We were two adults and five grandkids - three full bedrooms with queen or king, two full baths, living area, chairs on the deck - not crowded at all. Kids didn't want to leave. Location easily walkable to anything in Red River.…
Our stay here was not the best. Some issues were out of the control of the hotel but some weren’t. The mattress was bad and the pillows resembled pancakes. We stayed in 8C and just needed a quiet and relaxing place. This is not the cabin. Too close to the road and all the ATVs going back and forth and so many car honks. Place is being renovated and it needs it.
This was a great location, very centralized, and easily accessible. It is a little outdated (typical of most cabins in New Mexico) but they are in the process of remodeling. Our cabin had new tiles in the bathroom and a new toilet with a bidet. It also looked like they would be adding air conditioners soon as we saw boxes of them in storage. We enjoyed the horseshoes and being able to walk anywhere we wanted in the city.
Gave us a room behind the office. Could smell their cooking through the door. Kitchenette was horrible...kitchen sink and bathroom sink was shared counter. Holes in the wall and counter was taped. Smelled musty. Was in in the hallway with laundry. Used to be part of the main living quarters but closed up to create another unit to rent. Unit 9L. Do not book!
Super nice staff. Very accommodating. Enjoyed our stay in Red River . Convenient location right in the middle of town . Surrounded by trees and views. Walk to everything Red River has to offer. Would definitely stay there again
We came on vacation to rest and relax. It was pretty hard to do either with barking, whining dogs. Riverside was always no pets allowed in the past. Sorry, but we will stay elsewhere next time that doesn't allow barking dogs! We did appreciate the updates that are finally taking place but did not appreciate the pets allowed policy. The dogs should not be left alone while the owners are out of their cabins if they are going to continually bark and whine.
Disappointed! We got LICE from this lodge. We went to visit for three nights. We never have had lice ever. We did not go anywhere else or stay the night at any other places. Came home Sunday and Monday my daughter complained of her head being itchy but just thought it was from a sunburn. I did not check her hair at that time. Come Thursday she comes to me and says that her head is really itchy and she found a bug in her hair. We looked her head over and she had lice. I called Riverside today and told them I wanted a refund for $100.00 from having to buy all the products for the seven of us. They stated that we didn’t get it there. They would not refund me the money. I told them that they should throughly clean 26c. They currently have guest staying in 26c. They told me that the guests aren’t having any issues. You will not notice right away that you have lice. It takes a couple of days before you realize that you have it. A good company would refund the $ and take responsibility.…
We had two rooms, one was a two bedroom and the other a single room. The rooms were very outdated but mostly clean. We did have food left in our fridge from previous tenants. The toilet was not connected to the floor, toaster was scary old, and furniture was more like outdoor furniture. The wood stove was nice and wood was provided. Parking lot was not kept clear of ice nor were walkways. There was clutter piled up everywhere from what appeared to be a remodel in the making. We have above tenants who had a full out party above us, Screaming and stomping and fighting outside until 3am. The next day we asked management to speak to them as it kept up the entire family and our family in the unit across the property could also hear them. The next day it happened again, my husband asked the party to move and they did move to a different unit. The third day it started again, called management and he said he never asked them to quiet down as he said he would day 1. We texted the number to get more towels and never received any. Our door wouldn't lock. Wouldn't stay here again.…
We arrived on Friday, December 31 for a four night stay. At 1:00 AM my wife became ill. We had to call an ambulance and she was admitted to the emergency room in Taos. I knew their cancellation policy so almost didn't ask for a refund. When I told them the situation, they gave us a full refund. How amazing is that? Thank you, it was greatly appreciated. No skiing on this trip, but we will be back. We are home now and my wife is doing much better. Thanks again!
