We enjoyed our fall weekend in Red River. It was Octoberfest, but we were there to enjoy the beautiful mountains, up from Alamogordo. The folks at Hotel Ryland were very accommodating when we knew we would not be there before the office closed. They literally left the light on for us. Haha. And we enjoyed a bonfire with some of... This was our first stay at Ryland. We were pleased that rooms where clean and updated. Very friendly staff. Would stay again for a short trip, but if staying long need extra space due to we have over 6 in the family but made due with the room we had. We would book a bigger place if staying longer there.... We have stayed here several times. We loved it before, but It has just been renovated and it is much better! The beds are very comfortable. The outside area has several fire pits and grills! Great place to relax!

Our "cabin" was just a hotel room with paper-thin walls. There was no telephone in the room, and the office staff never seemed to be around. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were very large and also rock hard!

Location was perfect with everything you needed within walking distance. The property was great for a multi-generational family. We were able to cook meals as needed; the kitchen had all appliances and cookware you needed which was helpful with three small kids. Had a great play area and plenty of amenities for kids and adults alike.

The hotel is located right on main street, but it was never noisy. We could walk to the river, park, stores, chair lift, and restaurants. I did not move my car for two days. We enjoyed the balcony overlooking the street. The bed was very comfortable. Carl, the owner (?), helped us make a fire in the fire pit, which... More

We spent 3 nights at the Ryland. Great location and Carl, a member of the staff was just fantastic. He took great care of us and started a fire each night for our enjoyment. The Ryland is right on the Main Street downtown, so it's a handy location. The room was not large but it was clean and everything was... More

Basically no WIFI reception. We checked with a couple others in the hotel. and they said they had the same problem. Checking in early was also a problem. Got in a little early, but not much effort to getting that accomplished. They have your money before you get there, so no need to make the effort.

We love staying here because of the laid back atmosphere and hospitality. Bicycles for guests to use, grills and fire pits, nightly bonfires and free s'mores, a playground for the kids, and often coolers with free refreshments for guests. They just make us feel so welcome!

If hospitality is important to you, this is the place. We just spent 4 days there and we had a great time. You won't find a nicer host than Carl. We felt like we've known him a long time. Our kids loved playing in the common area with the playground and sandbox. Carl had s'mores ready for the kids on... More
