After several owners, the property was purchased by the current owners. In 2008 they tore down the old motel and had a new one built. It is now a 20 room motel with 14 rooms having 2 queen beds, 6 rooms having 1 king bed and 1 room is designated as a handicapped accessible unit. They decorated the new property with furnishings from the Marriott Corporation, added a dining room to the cafe, and established a trailer court behind the motel for both long and short-term rentals.

We stopped here on a road trip from Calilfornia to Tennessee (it was our stop in between the Grand Canyon and Dallas). We arrived quite late, but there were still people in the cafe and we were able to get our key from there. The room was pretty modern, very clean and neat. We had a great nights sleep and in the morning had breakfast in the cafe. The staff were very helpful and filled our ice chest up in the cafe kitchen when they saw my boyfriend trying to fill it using the ice machine. An all round good experience!

I was looking at some property in the Quemado, NM and this is really the only hotel in the area. Quite honestly, from the outside it doesn't look like much. So I was pleasantly surprised at my room. It was clean and modern, with a wonderful satellite TV service and nice little desk area where I could use my laptop. I read some of the reviews here and was a little leery but my room was comfy and cozy and also surprisingly quiet even though it was hunting season. I am so glad I made my own decision and stayed. This has taught me once again to never judge a book by it's cover. I will definitely stay there again.
Oh, and you can't beat having the town cafe a few yards from your hotel room with good hearty food and friendly service.

Passing through town but decided to stay at hotel. Big room and bathroom were clean. No instructions how to us dish TV but since the place is under new management they are working on the details. Free wifi but wasn't working in room the night we were there. No coffee makers or microwave. Only there over night and didn't need the extras. Liked that the resturant was right on premise. Great pancakes!

Rooms are about $63 per night. Extremely clean and comfortable and large. No ice machine--you take your bucket to the cafe and they'll fill it for you. Cafe is reasonably priced and has two very attractive and friendly waitresses. Just a great place to spend the night and get some grub before you're on the road again...

Would not recommend staying here on a bet! This was the worst experience we have ever had at a motel. The walls are as thin as paper and you can hear every word the room next to you is saying. We were on an extended stay of five nights. On the third day our room had not been cleaned or the bed made. The sheets that were on the bed did not fit. It appears that they put every one in one section of the motel and the parking is horrible. When I asked to have the room cleaned the owner came and we asked him questions to which he had the housekeeper answer. He had no answers. It was very unprofessionally handled. The room was half way cleaned and the bed made at 4:00 pm. We left the next morning. It made a fun vacation miserable. I don't recommend it at all.

Old fashioned, roadside, non-chain motel . . . it was pretty good. Really! The large bathroom had been remodeled, baseboards and door facings recently replaced and the room newly painted. The furniture was older but adequate. The carpet was in good condition. Pet friendly, the fee was only $5!! Most importantly, it was clean! My only complaint- the bed, lumpy pillows and fitted sheets that wouldn't stay fitted. We had a little trouble with the television remote but that may have been our fault. The parking lot needed to be swept/cleaned but the wind was tremendous with a lot of flying debris. We had an excellent green chile cheeseburger, take-out from the cafe. On this lonely highway without a lot of services, Largo Motel is a good bet.

When you drive into any little town as a traveler one may be suspicious of the service. What a wasted worry for us on our overnight stay at the Largo Hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. For breakfast I had great red chili and eggs dish. At sunset we walked down main street and found a wonderful little church. No hustle or bustle.

First you have to realize that you're in-between Springerville, AZ and Datil, NM. Not a lot to choose from in this area, but the Largo has come a long way in the last few years. It's been cleaned up like new, staff is helpful and the cafe next door is still serving something better than I can cook. What most people don't know about the area is the scenic drive north, northwest of Quemado. There's even a sign just west of town that directs you to Salt Lake. Take this ride, make sure you have a detailed map and keep going to the northwest side of Catron Co. It's bleak out there, but since you're near the outside of nowhere, check it out.

Room was new and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The restaurant served pretty good, standard fare, and excellent green chili burgers. Look out for the elk-horn Christmas tree at the end of town. Nearest possible alcohol - 20 miles. Plan accordingly.

The room was fantastic, clean and fresh.
The Hotel Lobby is in the Largo Cafe Check in was a breeze, the young lady was sweet and made us feel welcome. We had dinner at the Largo Cafe and the burgers were the BEST I have had in a very long time. I suggest you try the green Chili Burger. the portions were large and the price was perfect. One problem we had was the satelite in our room, but who really needs TV.
We checked out early in the morning at 6 am, when the cafe opens, we got some great coffe and a thermos filled all for $3.00. The people there were very nice. We also got a warning to watch out for Elk, I'm glad we did because one crossed our path. I sure will stay here again. Thanks everyone at the Largo =-)
