Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs is one of the oldest natural health resorts in the country. Our sulphur-free, geothermal mineral waters have flowed from a subterranean volcanic aquifer for thousands of years. Over 100,000 gallons per day come to the surface, revitalizing those who soak in the long believed, healing waters. We offer a variety of lodging accommodations, including new enchanting suites and charming cottages, the historic hotel and private homes. We suggest that you make reservations for spa treatments and private outdoor pools before you arrive. We also offer spa treatments, pools, hiking and biking trails, a wine bar and lounge and a full-service restaurant. The Artesian Restaurant provides a casual dining experience and charming atmosphere. Our chef blends local flavors with global cuisine. Heal yourself body and soul with a retreat to Ojo. Whether it's for a weekend or a longer stay, you'll leave rejuvenated and refreshed. Welcome!

We came during COVID restrictions, so I think the resort was limited to overnight guests. We stayed in a Posi suite, so had our own hot springs "tub" outside on a private patio area. Was wonderful! The room was large, clean and relaxing. Had a tv, fridge, etc. and just a short walk through lovely gardens to the main buildings. We ate all our meals on-site, and never had a bad one! The wine list had really good picks. There was only outside dining at the time, but the weather held up for us and we really like the historic feel of the restaurant's building. We are from Santa Fe, and it was the first time we "got away" since COVID restrictions were put in place. Ojo Caliente is low-key/down-to-earth experience, much like NM is when compared to places like AZ. I felt like the priority is access to the natural landscape and hot springs. We liked it so much, we tried to go again but the fire has closed down the place. Fingers crossed they open up again soon.

We were there pre-pandemic, it will be interesting to see how they do moving forward. I think it's only fair if you complain online, you should give the establishment a change as well. I offered the same criticisms in the survey I got after our stay. I never heard back. Some of the same problems that other folks mentioned- aggressive housekeeping/noise right by our room very early. Confusion among staff about what is available and when. Some of it is just New Mexico, as another reviewer pointed out. But, I don't do luxury travel often and when I do I have certain expectations. The main problem during our visit- so, so, over capacity. The locker room attendants couldn't keep up (dirty band aids and hair in the showers- just no. Also, we stayed in the old hotel with no en suite shower so that's where you had to shower.) and once they started letting the day trippers in, you couldn't even find a pool to get into. They also did nothing meaningful to control the "cruise ship after dark" party atmosphere. I said in my survey you have to decide if you're going to be a Disney type experience, in which case you are dramatically overcharging, or a more upscale one in which case you have to limit the number of people. Friends had been recommending Ojo to me for years. When I told them how it was, they were shocked. Another place that's getting loved to death, I think. I can't recommend it. I will say the bar and restaurant staff were lovely and they were SLAMMED. I've seen nightclub bartenders who weren't that busy. And our food was very good.

My friend and I stayed here for a spa getaway. Overall I would rate this place a 3.5 and I’ll tell you why. Note- we stayed during Covid-19 so my review is based on this time period. The resort is located about 20 minutes away from downtown Santa Fe so keep that in mind when planning meals and activities. That being said, there is only one restaurant on the property. We had breakfast and lunch during our stay and both meals were poor. There is a limited menu and the service was not good. English does not seem to be the servers first language and substitutes to the menu seemed difficult to make. In a resort with these fees and only one restaurant available, I would expect better service and a larger menu. Also, since this resort feels like a nature/farm to table/organic resort - I would imagine farm to table atmosphere and food. Overall I would rate the food a 2 out of 5, better to go out to eat if you can. During our second day here at Ojo we enjoyed the spa. I did a prenatal massage which seemed like the normal massage - no stomach padding was there or offered but same price. The massage overall was just okay. There is no relaxing waiting room prior to the massage. We enjoyed the repose pools, hammocks and private tubs after and before our massages. Rooms- the rooms are located throughout the property which you drive to. The rooms were cleaned and the beds were comfy. Housekeeping was not available due to COVID-19 which was unfortunate. There are no TVs in the room which I was bummed about since it’s a treat I look forward during my hotel stays. The wall AC unit was difficult to use as the air conditioning went on and off all night which led to night sweats. Room service was available however we did not partake. Suggestions to upgrade the hotel - water/juice upon arrival, chocolate/some sort of greetings in the room. In the spa - juice/teas available for guests, lavender eye masks during a massage, essential oils during the massage. Larger menu/better service/better food. Appetizer hour free to guests.

My daughter and I visited Ojo Caliente from July 23-28th. I simply can not say enough about how wonderful it was. We had several spa appointments-all were top notch. We visited the restaurant on several occasions for different meals-food was fantastic. Don't miss out on the blue corn pancakes with pinons! Springs were clean, relaxing and everyone social distanced while wearing masks. Our fire alarm also went off on the night of the 27th but our experience was much different than the gentleman (who was only a few doors down) that reviewed before me. Ours went off 3 separate times (briefly) and staff was at my Posi Suite door within minutes checking on us. Staff went above and beyond to greet us, speak to us, make us feel welcome. I look forward to returning.

Decided to try Ojo again with my new hubbie for a night in this quieter time with the hopes that fewer people would make this place feel magical again. NOT. Noisy work truck, golf carts zipping around, rude staff, and some kind of construction or road going on right up against the iconic sand cliffs that seemed just plain wrong. The water is unmistakably lovely; can't ruin that. The hike is still nice. But the vibe is off. The place feels choatic underneath, like no one is really in control. Sad.
