My husband and I were traveling cross country. We were not sightseeing. This motel is a Route 66 motel. It has been owned by the same family since its inception in 1959. The front desk lady was very friendly and helpful. We were a little leery about the area. My husband and I felt pretty safe. I would not recommend... More

What a perfect little Route 66 Motel!!!! It was so adorable. Very clean, and neat. Furniture was amazing. Nice plush white towels. Brand new, crisp Cotten sheets. Breakfast set up was great. There was a frig, microwave and coffee maker in the room which is a rarity for these little Motels. The Sunset Motel gets our vote for trip favorite!!!!

This is an Old Route 66 motel which has been lovingly brought back to life. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, coffee and mini refrigerator in the room, healthy continental breakfast. Staff and owners go out of their way to be helpful. They are pet friendly! We will be back!

I've stayed here several times and been impressed with its consistency. All the rooms have been renovated. Things that need to be updated (WiFi, new beds, carpets, flat screen TVs, all new bathroom fixtures) have been updated, and the rest remains to give you that 1950's retro look and feel. Everything you need for a quick stop while on the... More

This hotel is a classic hotel located on Route 66. We stayed here while traveling Route 66 because we were looking for a classic mom and pop hotel. This hotel delivered on that. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. There was a great patio area. The room was clean and comfortable but hasn't been upgraded at all... More

We were pleasantly surprised that a small roadside motel was so nice. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. It was obvious that the carpet, paint and bed linens were fresh and new. The outside was decorated in an adobe style. We didn't expect to have breakfast included, but were pleased that some continental offerings were available. There isn't... More

We made several Route 66 stops the day we stayed here, including the charming town of Holbrook, AZ, because our kids wanted to see where the Disney Cars movie was "made." This was the perfect way to top off our day. Loved the nostalgia and history of this family-owned motel. You can tell the pride the owners put into it... More

We arrived late in the evening without reservations and my husband had doubts when we stepped into the tiny front office/breakfast nook.... The owner, Mike, greeted us with a big smile, gave us a good price, and sent us to our room with some fresh smoked salmon, crackers, and a wonderful sauce. He told us ask his wife, Deb, for... More

Thank you so much for your kind words! Deb really enjoyed visiting with you on the patio. Debbie at the desk was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the local dining options. The spacious room was tastefully updated, clean, and fresh; the bathroom spotless; the beds big and comfortable; the atmosphere quiet and restful. Well-run independent non-chain motels like this are getting hard to find. I will definitely stay here on my next trip down I-40.

This motel was a definite plus on our trip!! It was so very clean and roomy and quiet!! The bed was comfortable, there was nothing that could have been improved upon!! I have stayed in motels & hotels that were supposed to be so much better but didn't even come close to the standards this one did.
