We booked 2 nights at first but after we arrived we loved it so much we booked 2 more nights. Friends told us about this place. We loved the area,so quiet, beautiful trees, great dog park and very well maintained. The owners were out every day working on the sites. Lots of places to hike in the area-they have brochures in the office with info and are happy to tell you about good places to hike. Cloudcroft is about 12 miles away. The town of Mayhill is very cute, the cafe is very good and the gift shop across the street was great. The rec room at Cool Pines has games, TV and DVDs, snacks and there is a nice fire pit outside.
On Saturday mornings they serve delicious (too delicious) cinnamon rolls. I would like to spend a month out here in July or August.
My only suggestion for improvement is if they had more than 1 shower available. Sometimes you just need a real shower.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay for our anniversary at Cool Pines. It is a beautiful RV park among the tall pine trees. And the owners Rick and Gail were so kind when they learned it was our anniversary and we couldn’t use our smokeless fire pit because of no burning in the area they let us use there propane fire pit the whole time we were there. And as new to RV we especially appreciated that they help guide you in and out of your spot. Thanks Rick and Gail for your kindness we will definitely be back again.

We looked at RV parks all around Cloudcroft, and chose Cool Pines for our 10 day stay in our 30’ B+ Motor Home. Best choice! We love the beauty, quiet, spacious & scenic sites, and the service. Kathy and Jed take a lot of pride in keeping this place in top shape. We’ve met people who’ve been coming back to Cool Pines for years, one couple ... 11 years. Here you get the best of both worlds: the natural beauty of a State Park and the amenities of a private campground. We’ll be among those who return year after year!

Family-run by amazing people. Full RV hookups. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. Gorgeous scenery in the well-kept park (about 15 acres) and nearby areas. Coin-op laundry facilities on site. Very (leashed) dog-friendly. Activities building and outdoor gathering area with fire pit and Adirondack chairs. Very friendly neighbors. No AT&T service but TMobile and Verizon work. Park also has WiFi.
On Saturday mornings, cinnamon rolls are on offer for guests and a local orchard sent over a man selling local honeycrisp apples.

Great place to stay for a night, the month or the entire summer. This park is geared to the over 50 rv'er. Very clean park, restrooms, showers and laundry. Whether you want full hookups or just water and electric they have both. Nice rock pads surrounded by grass and beautiful pine trees. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

This park is a few miles east of Cloudcroft nestled in a beautiful spot on the highway. We watched turkey and deer while we had our morning coffee. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The pads are gravel but level and ours was a pull-through. Very quiet.

We had a large well maintained site with nice views. You cannot meet nicer people than Jed and Cathie Dahar. The scenery is breath taking and all the sites are clean. If you are a bird watcher like my husband- I can assure you there is plenty of birds to see. We especially love watching all the hummingbirds! We would go back there in a heartbeat. And hope we can.
