We recently got married at the Hotel Encanto. We had scheduled our cocktail hour and reception at the hotel only to have had our ceremony canceled by our local church 8 days before our wedding. We live outside San Antonio and had opted to marry in Las Cruces because I’m originally from El Paso and have always loved the area. My husband and I met on the East coast where we lived up until 2021.

We knew Las Cruces would be the perfect destination wedding for our friends who had never visited Texas or New Mexico. Once we had to build a new ceremony from scratch, I immediately called Liz at the hotel and she helped us secure a location for our ceremony.

We were hesitant to have a ceremony outside since 90% of our wedding party was not familiar with the heat. But the whole staff made it beautiful and placed water stations outside for our guests. It was these little touches and courtesy that we needed doing months of work in only a matter of days.

The ceremony was beautiful and with Liz’s help we were able to move our ceremony time back allowing our out of town guests to float directly from our ceremony to the cocktail hour.

Initially, in our planning Liz helped us create an allergy friendly menu. Having a sleuth of allergies myself, we wanted to provide our other guests with allergies sufficient options for food.

We were very pleased with our menu as were our guests. We had some booking error occur with one of rooms and the front desk went above and beyond to remedy the situation.

While setting up for the wedding, some of the hotel staff saw we were struggling to set up our photo backdrop and one of the maintenance guys helped make it better than what we could have imagined.
We could not have asked for a more professional and courteous staff to help out our wedding together especially when we were thrown such a curve ball last minute.

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

We had another family reunion at Hotel Encanto last week. The rooms were clean and updated, the pool & hot tub were clean and in good working order, the beds were heavenly comfortable, and my dog was accepted and supported in her stay.
However, Davion was the one front desk person who was able to clean up the many room billing tangle that we created, and he did so with grace and respect. My mother had double booked and changed around the rooms last minute according to her idea of location and preferences, and the room had been pre-approved at special rates, so the other front desk personnel had them completely mixed up and over charged. We are super grateful to Davion for his superb customer service!

When we made our reservation we were not told that we needed to make reservations to have the room cleaned & clean towels. The room was haunted & alot of things didn't work. The carpet was very old & dirty. We had to ask for a refrigerator & it did not have a dial to adjust the temp so everything was frozen. The drinks in the bar are very expensive, my husband had a shot of Scotch and the price was $50.

The bed was comfortable, and there was few other seating areas that served their purposes. But; the bathroom was super small and out dated. If you use the toilet the door to the bathroom swings in with very little clearance. Also the bathroom door didn't close all the way. The room service was way over priced: two pancake plates (pancakes only) were sightly burnt without butter and served with what we guess was carmel, two orders of eggs scrambled and two orange juices were $59. On the bright side the bar was affordable three beers, two glasses of champagne and one mixed drink was $36. I would recommend staying here if you plan on eating elsewhere and don't mind the toilet not flushing correctly.

The Hotel Encanto is a large nice-looking hotel with a Spanish motiff. On the Monday evening we arrived, it also appeared empty. There is a formal entry but no staff in sight to assist with unloading and check-in, which is unfortunate as the parking is behind this large hotel and a bit of a walk. Once inside, the lobby is nicely appointed but dark and empty of activity. The single staff member at the check-in desk was friendly and efficient, but provided no hotel information other than the location of our rooms and of the elevators. Our room appeared to be satisfactory, but on further review, we found it had no fridge or microwave, items we would expect to have without asking. We found the television screen could only be viewed by someone sitting on the bed as the TV was set into the back of a deep cabinet and could not be moved forward! The bathroom had its own issues; clean, but the tub was slippery and drained very slowly. The wash basin faucet had low flow and was difficult to balance. Some of these things you don’t find out immediately. Not happy! The room felt like an “overflow” room, but too tired to move, so we did not ask for a different room; although, we would if we were staying more than one night. Given the previous reviews I read before booking, this hotel did not live up to my expectations! Upon checkout the friendly desk clerk agreed that the hotel was “quiet” this day, but advised that they regularly “sell out” on weekends. Perhaps other guests will have better luck than we did.

We arrived at the hotel late in the afternoon, checking in was fairly nice, open our curtains in our room was presently surprised of the great view from our room over looking the pool and surrounding grounds. Room itself was also nice. My husband and I were all over the states and we were on our way home this was our last stop and quite happy to be in such a pretty place compared to some of the places that stayed that we’re more expensive. We decided to go down for dinner and a drink , well the restaurant was not open when they said it would be so had a drink before going somewhere else. After one drink each they gave us the bill and we said charge it our room, well we noticed the bill for tow drinks my the house wine and my husband was a scotch, the bill was $58.00 dollars. We went back that night they said they couldn’t change it have to talk to the manager the next day so we did but no manager on site and couldn’t do anything for us but the bookkeeper would call us on the following monday never heard from them at all. I know COVID hit them hard but let’s fix the problems there people, if you want retuning customers.

We are very sorry for the confusion that has occurred regarding the charge for your drinks. After further review of our system and discussion with our team, we believe the amount charged was appropriate for the drink that was ordered. There does not seem to be an error in our system, the price paid is the selling price for Johnny Walker Blue. We apologize if you were caught off guard by this and we can definitely make adjustments on our end to have our staff communicate pricing when providing a guest with other drink options. If you would like to speak with us further regarding this matter please feel free to contact us at any time. Again, we are very sorry for the confusion and for making you feel in any way that we did not properly care for you. We value you as our guest and would love to have another opportunity to serve you in the future.

We booked two rooms at this hotel because we heard it was the nicest hotel in Las Cruces. We were meeting family that we had never met and excited about our trip. We called the hotel to let them know we would be checking in late and they let us know that as long as we arrived before 12 am we would be fine. My husband and I checked in. The next day our 18 year old daughter was to arrive and AGAIN we were told as long as she got there before 12 am we were good. She arrived at 11:45 to the hotel and we met her in the lobby. CARLOS advised us that they did not have a room for her??? We were stunned? He was blah, not apologetic or empathetic and simply advised us that they had transferred the reservation to the Hilton Garden Inn a mile down the road. We told him this couldn't happen; how could our 18 year old daughter stay at a different hotel? He couldn't have been more "yucky" for no better term. How does a hotel do this? We asked why no one had called us to let us know? He said the manager of the hotel was supposed to have called, we had received no call. My husband left a message that day, Saturday for the general manager, William Giraldez. It is now Monday at 7 pm and we have received no call. It is just so sad that no one seems to care these days. We called the hotel at 4:54 pm and of course William had already left for the day. REALLY????

My family and I stayed here the past weekend. The staff are by far the biggest bragging point of this hotel. We wandered into the on-site restaurant Mezcla Saturday night to have a few cocktails before adventuring out for dinner, and were completely captivated by the bartender Ashley. She made us laugh, gave us sound advice for spots to see while here and she even kept the bar open a little later than normal for us and a few other guests to enjoy She convinced us to “just have an appetizer” before we went off, and we ended up having the most delicious 3 course meal and handcrafted cocktails that we have ever enjoyed in all of NM. Props to the chef cooking that night because it was absolutely delicious and kudos to the new head chef she bragged to us about who made this immaculate menu. I tell you now, if you have even just a craving for a snack, do yourself a favor and stop in here!!!

Our room was a bit odd, the bed is comfortable enough. The view is pretty. The bathrooms don’t really match the decor, the carpet needs to be ripped out and replaced with tile or something better, and I really can’t understand how it’s 2022 and there are no menus in the room, or any indication of room service, no refrigerators or safes and my parents room didn’t have a phone. Again I say the restaurant was the redeeming quality for this beautiful, authentic yet a little outdated hotel.

Stayed here to be close to White Sands Nat’l Park. Customer service was AmAZiNG! This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that texts you right before check-in and said text us back if you need anything during your stay. I texted when towels were out at the pool, and they IMMEDIATELY texted back with a friendly reply and came down with fresh towels within 5 minutes. Great fitness center with windows looking out toward the pool. I told an employee that the water jug was out in the fitness room, and she immediately stopped what she was doing to find someone replace it. Service and breakfast food in restaurant was great. Pool was fantastic with outdoor fireplace and hot tub. *My only complaint is that they have rooms with 2 doubles instead of 2 Queens. The rooms are plenty big enough to fit queens. Doubles are just too small!

Hi Kim J, After reviewing the website, there is no current public transportation to White Sands. I would recommend renting a car, which will run you about $40 for a day. We will be happy to provide you with directions. You noted you can’t drive, so taking an Uber to White Sands will cost you about $75 one way.
