We looked at other hotels but this was the classic roadside Motel and really cheap to stay. Windows looked like they hadn't seen soap for a while, but hey...we're on a road trip and this only added to the experience. Spent the saturday afternoon listening to local radio from the car, drinking beer on the porch and watching Gallup drive...

This place is in need of a large amount of Lysol. Something to fumigate the mold smell. Linens were filthy and was afraid to get under the covers. Very Cold. Dirty Discussing & Undesirable but if you are a hard core drug addict or prostitute (like we had next door) then come on down they have a place for you....

Stayed overnight with family. Room was shabby, towels were gray and thin and I wasn't convinced that the bedding was clean either. Not the best area, 10 minutes after opening the curtains in the morning a man knocked on the window begging. When we went to check out at 9am the reception was locked with a box outside to post...

This is the dirtiest motel I have been in. I asked the owner just to see the room before I took it and he reluctantly gave me a key, and I can understand why. Owner is arrogant and when I showed him the dirt that I collected on my Clorox little wipes he had no interest in reviewing the condition...

Cross country Route 66 looking for bargains found this place for $40 a night. It's decent for the price. Microwave, fridge and hairdryer. No shampoo or coffee. Bed is newer and firm with no flat pillows. Non smoking queen room smells fine. Decent diner next door and Mexican across the street walk to both.

I stayed at the El Capitan on Jan. 1, 2016, on a cross-country trip from Tennessee to California. I have two dogs, so the motel was chosen based on price and pet-friendliness. The gentleman at the desk was very helpful and friendly and placed me, at my request, in an end room so that my dogs would not be disturbed...

Very nice people that run this hotel. I had made a booking mistake, and instead of charging me twice (the day I had booked the room but didn't show up and the night I stayed) they graciously comped the night I stayed. They did not need to do this, and I appreciated it very much. The motel itself is a...

This is an older Route 66 motel in Gallup. Nothing fancy but good bed, big enough bath and nicely decorated. Staff was friendly and efficient and it was nice to stay at a nostalgic place for a great price.

Dated rooms but clean and adequate. Wifi worked well.We didn't go for the cheapest, but the next morning on leaving Gallup, we did find similar motels cheaper. Just felt the host was an absolute turn off with his attitude and we almost left and went elsewhere because of that.
