Everything was very nice. It was quiet, private, very clean and the hosts were friendly. But. The breakfast was amazing. It was Cinqo de Mayo and Diana made the most wonderful baked apple concoction and years later, she sent me the recipe because I haven't stopped thinking about it.

I made it and it was very good. Diana made it far better. Thank you for the recipe!

Words of gratitude flow towards you for remembering and then requesting the recipe so that you might duplicate it in your home. Delightful!!!!!!

We had a memorable experience with Diane and David at their wonderful bed and breakfast on the San Juan and Animas rivers. It was a perfect place to rest and recharge while enjoying the local sights. Diane's breakfasts were delectable, and we found it hard to tear ourselves away from the ambiance and conversation in their dining room with its view of cottonwoods and flowing water. We stayed in the Cottonwood Room, and it was spacious and comfortable. Everything is immaculately clean. The bed and bedding were excellent.
Farmington has the amenities of a small city and is close to the Aztec Ruins Monument and the Salmon Ruins. It is also one of the closer locations with access to Chaco Canyon. Silver Rivers Adobe is on the periphery of development, but has a remote feel. Our hosts are people we would love to continue to know.

We loved the chairs and table overlooking the river. The room had a large bathroom and all the windows looked out over the river. Diane brought amazing coffee in the morning that she placed on our outdoor patio with a delicious healthy breakfast. She even left coffee early for us the next morning when we had to leave. We were close to town to be able to walk the Riverwalk and not far from the Kirtland Golf Course. My only suggestion would be to make the entry sign off the highway more noticeable. We had a hard time finding that, even with GPS. We would definitely return!

Upon my arrival, it was dark and difficult to see the sign and driveway. I ended up driving across in front of the fire station. I drove down a long trail to the rustic looking Silver River Inn B & B.

I was warmly greeted by the host and escorted to my room.

For the three days I was there, I was never asked for proof of vaccination, also didn't see or hear anything about a spa. Breakfast was served to me in my room, Covid precaution. I was very disappointed in breakfast. Coffee (very hot 👍) and a freshly baked muffin, that's it. For the prime price that was charged, I thought something more substantial would be served for breakfast. I'm not fond of anything made with goat but that was never a consideration from the host.

The room has lots of windows but the river was barely seen. There's an embankment with shrubs and trees that block the view.

The room was comfortable and well equipped with wifi, a room heater, small fridge with freezer, microwave, utensils, 2 plates, 2 bowls, and 2 cups. A small seat was in the room but it was so hard it would be impossible to sit on it for any length of time.

There is a private bathroom with full shower, another small heater, lots of washcloths, a hand towel, shampoo & conditioner, body lotion, a tiny square of soap and ONE bath towel.

Response from Diana Ohlson, General Manager at Silver River Adobe Inn
Responded Oct 17, 2021
We are pleased that you found a number of positive points about our B&B. For the 35 years we have had the B&B we have served the same type of breakfast. Once in a while we do forget to ask for the Covid vaccination card. However for 90% of the guests we do ask to see their vaccination card which is always graciously shown to us. We are not licensed to use the goat milk and do not have at this time, enough goat milk form our nursing mother goat. Hence we do not make any food item for our guests with goat milk nor do we use our chickens eggs but only store bought milk and eggs. The shrubs on the embankment help hold the soil which is a most important job and a gift of nature. Within fifteen feet of the porch one can see a large overview of the river. Driving through the fire station driveway is the route the city gave us after building the fire station. We had been using that path for several decades before the fire station was built. The city said that they would give us another entrance in 1995 when the fire station was built. How long ago was that?

What an utterly delightful place. I’m so lucky to have found this really special accommodation above the bend of the river in Farmington. Even though Silver River Adobe Inn is near the highway, you wouldn’t know it. It’s tucked away down below into a private area, screened from noise or visual ugliness. Such a little sanctuary. My little cottage suite could not have been more perfect. And I love their taste, Hosts Diana and David were wonderful. And if you’re lucky, you might get to see their goats. Wi-Fi needs a little tending but other than that it’s an absolutely fabulous fabulous place. I hope to return.

What a fantastic tucked away haven! Right beside the river with access to the bank, rustic rooms with unique interiors, and a lovely host couple that were very fun to chat with! Diana and David were very welcoming and accommodating, providing breakfast in the morning in their lovely kitchen but also willing to let you have your space if needed.

I enjoyed going to the river in the morning, and the bedding was very cozy and comfortable. I’ve already told my friends and family about this place, and I will definitely be returning the next time I’m passing through Farmington!

I've been meaning to write this review because Diana and David are so wonderful and my stay was perfect. David welcomed me when I arrived, gave me a tour/run down of my room, chatted poetry with me, and gave me a good dinner recommendation. The room was cozy, the amenities exceeded my expectations, and Diana brought me a delicious breakfast and coffee in the morning. I didn't want to leave, and I know I'll be back the next chance I get for a mini vacation or writing retreat.

A fabulous Bed and Breakfast. It is right on the San Juan River and the rooms face the river. Our room was cute, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast is delivered to your room. It is just west of the fire station turn left at the dirt road. We look forward to staying here again.

What a pleasant surprise! More rustic than we anticipated, but we were perfectly happy without a television. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Coffee was wonderul, I enjoyed the breakfast, as did my husband (though he should have asked for syrup). Totally enjoyed talking with our hosts who are very knowledgeable about the area. Great dining recommendation, and look forward to using their shopping recommendations when we come back here. I do agree about the difficulty finding the. Inn: use the information on the website, not your gps

When I first arrived, very tired from the road, my first thought was - wish I could stay here longer. The tasteful simplicity and tranquil energy spoke of a love for the earth. As I talked to the warm, intelligent hosts this was confirmed and I enjoyed discussing our shared interests. Sitting outside by the river with their dog while I enjoyed a drink and unwound was perfect. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with everything needed and more. Best of all the room was dark and quiet with a comfortable bed for a good deep sleep. I hope to return.
