There are limited options if you want to stay 'close' to Chaco and this was the best we found. House was cute, historical and in a beautiful location. The front living room window didn't lock, there was no blind in the master, and somehow we got the wrong house number when we picked up the key (maybe my husband wrote it down wrong) so finding the house was a bit of a challenge initially. We ended up referring back to the website and getting our directions there. We never met Denny as our original instructions indicated, but that was okay. Our only real issue was spiders... we found them in the ceiling corners of every room. I may not have noticed, but our daughter did. The house is in a rural setting, and local bugs and critters are to be expected, but spraying the perimeter as we do at home may not be a bad idea. All in all this was a clean place to stay in a gorgeous natural setting. Only stayed one night but it did make our morning run to Chaco quite a bit shorter and that was the entire reason we stayed in this location.…
We stayed in the main house, a great location of the main road, in July rich with wildflowers and insects. House is great too, plenty of room inside and outside as well with a good porch and dining area. Denny is a great host
We really enjoyed our 2 nights in the Kiva room. Bed is comfortable & the views are perfect. Denny was flexible & unflustered since we had the wrong dates. It’s a laid back, low stress place! Breakfast at the Chaco Grille was delicious! We will come back to share Chaco Canyon with friends & stay here again
Four of us traveled from Santa Fe, NM on day one for a round trip over two days. We had booked this lovely house with 2 bdroms and one bath. But it was more...full kitchen, dining area, living room and a fabulous front porch/portal with a view of a small lake. Decor was more than nice and we were a mere hour from Chaco Canyon our final destination. Could not have asked for better.
This place is a gem! We stopped in Cuba at the Chaco Grill and Denny gave us directions to the house. After a couple miles down a local road we arrived at a lovely home and grounds in a rural setting. This property consists of a two BR one bath home, and a separate one BR one bath apartment. The house was beautifully decorated and absolutely immaculate. We only stayed for one night, but could have easily stayed for longer. The home has a large open yard, patio area, and front porch. Sitting out at night and watching the stars was amazing. Breakfast was provided at the Chaco Grill by Denny’s wife. If you are visiting Chaco Canyon or otherwise this area, this is the nicest place there is.
