Our new favorite lodging and dining spot in Cloudcroft. Great location within walking distance of Burro Street. Comfortable, clean and nicely appointed rooms with the cafe just steps away. Delicious homestyle meals with large portions and good variety. Having the full laundry on premises is a real plus.
Amazing motel and cafe. We got caught up in an unexpected snowstorm, and pulled in and immediately got stuck, staff was very attentive and got me dug out and settled into an amazing ski theme room. The kiddos love it, the bed is so comfy! The home cooked cafe was excellent and atmosphere was so warm and cozy! We will definitely stay here again.
I loved our room, which was beautifully decorated with a Western motif. There were so many nice touches, including antiques and beautiful quilted bedspreads (plus all the standard modern conveniences). The overall impression was one of warmth, comfort and rustic charm. The room was spotless, the memory-foam mattresses were wonderful, and the bathroom, which had a large shower, was very nice. The room was a bit cramped. The hostess said the two queen beds would eventually be replaced with one king, making the layout more open. Dining is available at the Dusty Boots Café on the same property, and motel guests get a discount. Cloudcroft is a lovely mountain community, and the motel sits at the edge of forest. The motel is also within easy walking distance of a beautiful city park with a trail.…
Affordable, newly renovated old-style motel. New owners have made each room unique. Mine had a bear theme. Very clean and comfortable. Nice little café. Gratis banana bread. Perfect for a one-night stay in Cloudcroft.
We drove in to Cloudcroft and discovered the power was out in the whole village! They gave us the key to our room, despite the fact that they couldn't take payment because of the computer being down. We were hungry and had planned to try a local restaurant for dinner, and had begun sorting through our limited snacks to try to figure out how to cobble together enough to fill our tummies, when the owners knocked on our door to tell us they were opening their cafe to hotel guests and serving sandwiches and salad- free of charge! We headed over and sure enough, they were making vegetarian and ham sandwiches in the kitchen by flashlight. They were great sandwiches, too, with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, and cheese- they didn't skimp. They also offered fruit and luscious desserts! To top it off, they allowed our kids to choose a high-quality soda, complete with cups of ice. They made sure there were heavy duty flashlights in each room, then came by later to tell us when the electricity was expected to be back on. The next day at check out we were encouraged to go to the cafe for some thick, delicious slices of banana bread to fuel our day. Such good people, such a good experience. We will not forget your kindness, and we can't wait to come back and stay with you again. …
