We always enjoy a room on the second floor with access to the balcony. Love to read sitting on the balcony. We also enjoyed having wine before dinner on the patio. As usual, we appreciated the help and friendliness of the owners and the staff, and it is interesting to talk to them. This was a very busy evening for...

This is a lovely old hotel with a wonderful history. If you ask the front desk, they can tell you all sorts of stories about Black Jack Ketchum (sp?) and the ghost of the hotel. The rooms have been remodeled fairly recently, however, it's still a historic hotel. We couldn't hear noises from other rooms but we could hear people...

Went out to dinner with friends at the restaurant at Hotel Eklund. The hotel was very interesting. It is a restored hotel from the wild west days. Its beautiful inside. We didn't spend the night, but dinner was fine with alot of choices. The one problem we did have however was we were placed to eat in the saloon/ bar...

Booked room online for one night. Front desk woman was very helpful and efficient with our check in. We had a corner room on the 3rd floor. Nice to have an elavator. Room had lots of space for an old hotel and very clean. Had bottle water for us. The bed a was a little to soft for me but...

We just stayed one night in a comfy room with a comfy queen bed in a beautiful old hotel with a nice bar and restaurant and would recommend to anyone. Friendly staff! Well kept and clean. The trains do go through town at night and can certainly be heard in your hotel room, but that probably goes with the territory...

This hotel has lots of charm. A step back in time. It was remodeled to some degree a few years ago. My room was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. Easy to get too. Can't miss it since it's on main street. There is lots of local history to discover. The salon offers wonder meals. There is a...

We were excited to stay here, but were disappointed once we got in the room. First, I noticed that the carpet had obviously not been vacuumed. I then noticed that the window sill and curtain were both dirty and dusty. The walls were in desperate need of another coat of paint or a good wiping down at least. I then...

This hotel dates from 1892. It still retains the original saloon below, complete with a bullet hole in the tin ceiling. The saloon is friendly and surprisingly quiet on a weeknight, serving tasty comfort food. The hotel is very clean and the staff are wonderfully friendly and chatty. The rooms are spartan, and make you feel as though you have...

Was doing Spring Break thunder run from Harker Heights, Tx to Breckenridge with plan to overnight in Raton, NM. Stopped by the Eklund to pick up spices for friend and decided to stay. It was only about $20 more than our bland chain motel would have been and it was a good call. Room was clean and comfortable. We ate...

Nice surprise finding this historic hotel in the small town of Clayton while passing through on the way to Denver. Incredible ambiance and friendly service. Great stay, great value and would definitely stay here again. The shared areas - front desk and lobby, stairwells, saloon were decorated well and added to the character of the hotel. JoBeth at the front...
