Travelers' Choice
Elkhorn Lodge in Chama, NM is a rustic, 70 year old establishment that offers cabin and mobile home rentals and motel rooms. It is located on the Chama River with over 8 acres of wooded land. The lodge has a communal fire pit on the river bank, a pavilion to rent for weddings and other events. There is a play area for children, corrals for your horses, a dog run and plenty of fish in the river. In the Chama area you can hike the Continental Divide thru beautiful national forests, ride the Cumbres-Toltec Scenic Railroad, go horseback riding, fish in lakes and rivers, snow mobile and cross country ski in the winter months or just sit by campfire and listen to the Chama River. Stay with us and enjoy all that the beautiful Chama Valley has to offer.

What a great place to stay! We were there two nights to ride the Cumbres-Toltec scenic train, as I think most of our fellow travelers were, and we chose the Elkhorn sight unseen, but it turned out to be a great choice. A very rustic look, but the rooms were clean, well furnished, and the staff was very friendly. The wi fi was a little weak unless you were close to the satellite dishes at the office, but that's to be expected in a pretty remote northern New Mexico location. Would we stay there again if we had the choice? Absolutely!

The owners were so nice and the room was SO clean, the king size bed was amazingly the most comfortable bed that we have slept on. I have been coming to the chama area for years now but this was my first time to stay here but we will be back again. Thank you for your kind hospitality. Jill/Roger the Texas Ranchers

My husband and family come to Chama once or twice a year, we've stayed in the hotel room, the cabins and the Mobile homes, and they have always been clean and provided with plenty of necessities. We've come here to celebrate birthday, anniversary's and family reunions and also take the day long train to hosier. We've stayed in other cabins and hotels in Chama, but Elkhorn has always been our favorite. The scenery is beautiful, and the river runs right through the property, Just beautiful!

We have been staying at the Elk Horn Lodge since 1999 and it never fails us. Linda goes out of her way to make our stay comfortable. I have hunted in the Chama area since 1993 but the best times have been at the Elk Horn. This year we got moved from our regular cabin to the mobile home. I gotta say I was a little scared but after seeing it, I think we are going to keep reserving it instead. Spacious and comfortable. Thanks again to Linda and the rest at Elk Horn Lodge. Pete M.
