Beautiful mountain home! We stayed here for the birding and were not disappointed. 30 minutes to Sandia and 30 minutes to Albuquerque. Abby was a great and generous host. The room, the bed, and the bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with tea/coffee available all day. Only con: it’s an old house so the floors creak which could be an issue for light sleepers
My wife and I recently stayed at Elaine's and it was a wonderful experience. It is a beautiful building in a beautiful location. The place is full of amazing furniture and the breakfasts are delicious. Plus, Elaine is a very friendly, funny and interesting person. She has led a fascinating life and is a joy to talk with. We have been staying at B&B's for decades and this is certainly one of our favorites.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Elaine's Bed and Breakfast. Cozy accommodations, exceptionally clean, delicious breakfasts, breathtaking views... What more can you ask for? Elaine has put so much love and care into every detail of the property and spending time with her and the other guests each morning was a highlight of my stay. I will definitely be back!
My husband and I have made Elaine's our home away from home for several years each time we pass through Albuquerque. Elaine is warm and welcoming, and every room is, too. We stayed with Elaine (for the seventh time!) in October, and we love our room--it has a porch with a great view. Perfect for a quiet morning coffee or evening impromptu happy hour! Don't miss Elaine's breakfasts--her scones and hotcakes are a treat! The location is the perfect home base for wandering around Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Elaine will tell you all the best places to see! Can't wait to be back there again!
In early March, we checked into Elaine's in order to do some birding in the Sandia Mountains. The rooms were lovely, with plenty of amenities and great views. Breakfast was substantial, and Elaine joined us regularly at the table. Early risers will be greeted by many birds around the lodge itself, and our daytime forays up the mountains yielded many more.
We stayed at this wonderful B&B on our way to Santa Fe. Elaine welcomed us & made us feel welcome. Our room was private with a very comfortable bed full bath complete with plush towels. We enjoyed sitting on our private deck with access to the surrounding secluded trails. Visiting with other guests & Elaine over a hearty breakfast was delightful. Elaine is a gracious hostess & I regret that we only had one night to stay at her beautiful home. I know where to go now for a great get away for R & R. If you are going to be travelling in this area, you should stay with Elaine!
I was attending a David Elliot Retreat a few miles away, and my husband and I stayed at Elaine's bed and breakfast for a week. He spent the day writing in the peaceful surroundings, while I was at the retreat. The space is beautiful, clean, comfortable and very reasonable. Lots of antiques and the grounds and numerous decks and balconies invited you out to see the sunrise and sunset, the full moon and the breath taking mountains. Elaine is a great lady; entertaining, nurturing and gives you all the space you need. She made us a huge, delicious breakfast, different every morning, and accommodated our 7:30am breakfast request. ( We are early risers!) Grandson David was very nice and we felt very much at home. We came and went as we pleased, hiked, went to dinner in Albuquerque, (Our favorites were Farm and Table and Los Poblanos) and visited Madrid, an artists town, only 30 minutes away. Myra the dog is a sweetheart. We stayed in the SunRise room; great bathroom, private porch and gas fireplace. We would go back in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it!…
This was not our first time staying at Elaine's. With our children moving out of state this would be our first Christmas in 27 years without our kids. I asked my wife if she wanted to stay home or travel for Christmas. The answerer came quick and were she wanted to stay came just as fast. Even though it was Christmas Elaine and her grand son David like always made us feel like part of the Family. We enjoyed are stays here and would recommend Elaine's highly. Stay in one of the upper rooms with a balcony. Open up a bottle of wine and look at the endless stars above you. It just dosent get any better.
First off, Elaine is an absolute delight. In addition to being a terrific cook, she is charming and very interesting. It was fun to enjoy breakfast with her and the other guests. Elaine converted her lovely log home into a b&b and it's filled with antiques and comfortable seating. The outdoor space is terrific and the views are beautiful. Thanks to her birdfeeders, there are many hummingbirds and other beautiful birds to watch and we enjoyed the squirrel family living on the wall outside our room. And Myra the dog is great. I'm sure every guest feels at home with Elaine.
My wife and I spent a Sat night in late May, Elaine's is an East Mountain ( Easter slope of the Sandia's) delight. It is easy to find solitude as well as conversation. Elaine's breakfast was simple and homespun. No in room TV I believe and that is fine for me. The rooms are very clean and are of log cabin motif and living. The road off of NM 14 is windy and might be a challenging climbing the hill in the Winter. Elaine's grandson Zach drove (and another party) up &back to Paa-Ko We did not have to worry about the 10 PM drive home and I tipped him fairly. If you are looking for a relaxed and non pretentious B&B in Cedar Crest then I highly recommend Elaine's. Elaine, herself, reminds me of a family friend that you might share a cup of coffee with and tell a memorable story. Easy living!…
