Detailed Reviews
Abby provides ample hospitality and service.
An interesting structure for this B&B. The building has an “old wood” feel with ample decorations. We stayed in the “Library Room”. Comfy bed and a nice sunrise from the window. Everything was fresh and clean.
Bathroom was adequate and across the hall from our room.
Breakfast: eggs, bacon, scones, croissants, fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea.
Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful mountain home! We stayed here for the birding and were not disappointed.
30 minutes to Sandia and 30 minutes to Albuquerque.
Abby was a great and generous host.
The room, the bed, and the bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with tea/coffee available all day.
Only con: it’s an old house so the floors creak which could be an issue for light sleepers

Elaine's BB was just stunning. It was unfortunate we arrived about 7pm and missed the valley view but we enjoyed the sunrise and the valley view. beautiful... we left with some snow gently falling. Such a unique place where you will find yourself caught in the world of a cottage feel with collections etc. We will stay here again in a few days on our way home from Utah. Abby was such a pleasant host too.

The hospitality and surroundings were warm and inviting at Elaine's. We never once felt like were were guests but a member of Elaine's close knit family. One of the most beautiful bed and breakfasts tha we have ever stayed in. The patios are peaceful and serence. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds feed upon arrival and both Molly and Cinnamom made us feel at home, Elaine's beloved pets.
We cannot recommend Elaine's high enough. If you want a peaceful escape from a hectic life, please take the chance to visit Elaine's while in Albuquerque. Call well in advance!

My wife and I couldn't have stayed at a better retreat than Elaine's for our 25th wedding anniversary. The innkeeper for whom the B&B is named is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Her property is a rustic 3-level log cabin chateau featuring stylish rooms with gorgeous views. Elaine is also a master chef who cooked us some of the most sumptuous breakfasts of all time (KILLER PANCAKES). Add some homey touches such as a fire pit, a hot tub, countless hummingbirds, and a sweet black Lab named Manny, and you have a fantastic setting for romance and relaxation. A must return!

Room Tip: Choose the Manzano Room on the top floor. Very romantic with a balcony overlooking infinity!

I fell in love with this B and B from their simple website pictures, and I was right! Elaine met us with glasses of ice tea when we arrived and talked to us about our visit. The log house is everything you can imagine it would be from huge beams in the guest living room to the breathtaking view from the wooden swing on the upper deck. (wi-fi is available if you just have to log on!)
Stay in the Sunrise room if it is available and you can pay a little more. You have your own porch and the sun rises as if it was only for you. The picture included is the sunrise from the porch on the morning of our visit and it is the best picture I took the entire vacation. No traffic - great views - stars - a hot tub - good food - and a band of coyotes that began to howl around 10:30 that night. They only sang for a few minutes, but it was wonderful. It is a bit of a drive from Albuquerque - about 15 or 20 minutes - but it is worth every minute of it for the peace and quiet and genuine splendor of the vistas.

+1
My wife and I were on our 30th anniversary and Elaine made us feel as if we were family. The place is a beautiful log and stone cabin, much like a lodge. It has bubbling brooks running through the front portal and is landscaped to set well in the pine forest on the side of Sandia Mountain.
We stayed in the Sangre de Cristo Room, which was in a new wing she had built, on the second and third floors.
Our room was very romantic and nice, with a very nice bath (beautiful tile) and wonderful four post bed, in a cute bunny theme, gas kiva fireplace, plus a great balcony that you can sit, relax and see a fabulous views of the Notheast side of the Sandia Mountain. Lots of birds and humming birds. Her dogs, Molly and Cinnamon, a lab and chow, are friendly and love to look after you and will show you neat hiking trails. Breakfast was awesome and filling. All and all a delightful stay and we will go back.

My sixth trip to the most beautiful state and the fourth with my companion. Although I prefer the more arid west side of the Sandias for the desert feel, east also has its charms. Elaines B&B is one of them.
We had a very large and comfortable room with a wonderful little deck and view. Breakfasts were on time and quite satisfying and the housekeeping service was great. Elaine is a very upbeat innkeeper and a pleasure to chat with.
If you enjoy bird watching and don't have many NM birds on your list you can quickly check off five or six within a matter of minutes at her feeders. Since we only use our accomodations for about six hours of sleep a night before running ragged all over the state, I only had a moment one evening to sit in her beautiful living area.
The only minor negative I found was the lack of a regular shower in our room. There was a shower hose attachment but it was too short and hand held. From a construction standpoint I can see why it was not practical to install a fixed shower. All in all, a minor inconvenience that the plus' far outweigh.

During our first 2 month independent tour of the USA, Elaine's B&B was our first B&B - honestly, Elaine and her other guests, some of whom have been visiting as friends for over 20 years, made our stay the most memorable of all in the States. We were in Albuquerque to enjoy the mesmerising World Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and its associated events, and to return each evening to the conviviality of Elaine and her guests/friends became a joyful event as well. Breakfasts continued on and on and firm friends made - delicious food helps every time! The grand house is stunning in its forested location, bedrooms spacious and quiet and nearby restaurants for evening meals are terrific. We didn't want to leave as we felt so unforgettably welcomed by Elaine. Hoping we are able to return to visit Albuquerque as we could now never stay anywhere but with Elaine as a home away from home. Kisses & hugs to you Elaine. Lorraine & Noel Henderson, Australia

We stayed here for 4 nights during the balloon festival. We loved the location and the quiet surroundings, just a short drive to Albuquerque but felt very secluded and away from it all. The whole house is beautiful and we loved our room (manzano) which was beautifully decorated, extremely spacious and with stunning views. Elaine was an exceptional host and was very accommodating to my wifes dietary needs. The breakfasts were excellent and came with the added benefit of a great atmosphere, we stayed with a number of guests from a variety of countries and within a short time we felt as if we were with old friends. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and would love to return.

Hi Tamara,
I am sorry that I didn't get your question until now. I know that this is late.
Two of my rooms have fireplaces in them and there is a fireplace in the kitchen and also one on the second floor in the common area.
Thanks for the inquiry,
Elaine
