Good food buffet style. Cocktails that have honesty bar. Show at 6pm. Hotel on several levels. Room very well lates out with all amenities. Good nights sleep and very much the Bhutan way Guides always on time. Friendless is the byword. You feel that you are on holiday. Fully recommend this hotel
We spent 2 fantastic days at the Dhensa resort last week. Everything was beautiful about the resort : large rooms, super comfy heating, great location, beautifully designed restaurant. Further, the local dance presented by the hotel staff every evening was a nice welcoming touch! And to top it all the meals at the restaurant cooked by the expert chef, Sanjay Chauhan were superb! He rustled up both Bhutanese local dishes as well as continental and Indian dishes and everything tasted incredible! A special desert made for us : Strawberry Fruit tart was quite out-of-the-world with its amazing layers of taste! The dishes were of outstanding taste and presentation . Chef Sanjay was very accommodating too, when I requested if he could make a special vegetarian omlette for me the next day for breakfast and he gladly obliged. Truly grateful for the personalised touch we received from all the staff! Very friendly and warm staff, ever ready to assist us with smiles on their faces all the time. My husband got a Massage at their spa, and that was a great experience too! Would recommend staying here surely!…
We stayed at this resort for 2 nights in late December. If going to Bhutan was not enough of a getaway, then staying at Dhensa is the ideal getaway for peace and tranquility. - The resort is on the middle of a small mountain. Getting there involves a number of twists and turns on the road. However, it is all worth it. Set in the middle of a forest, this boutique resort is a perfect getaway from everything. - Staff were all very friendly and greeted us with a welcome drink upon arrival. - Rooms are designed with simplicity. No unnecessary gadgets - but with the necessary modern touches like wifi and usb ports. The deck was great to sit outside and ponder the world. - The spa and sauna was at the lower end of the resort. Just a short walk away. There is a yoga room that looks over to the forest. - The restaurant staff were fantastic and genuinely helpful. However, the food itself was dull - trying to cater to international tastes but without getting there while also losing the local touch. Overall, this is a resort we would not hesitate to return to. Great location, great staff. An ideal resort for a getaway.…
Located in the sleepy Town of Punakha, The Dhensa Boutique Resort is a wonderful place to be. Surrounded by nature in its most beautiful form, the Hotel offers modern facilities, great hospitality and above all peace and tranquillity - things we crave for in our busy daily routines. The ambience and the location just adds to the serenity. Of course, the rooms are spacious, elegantly designed and equipped with all amenities like Air Conditioner, Electric Tea Maker, HD LED TV etc. The Bathrooms are also neat and well maintained. However, it’s the politeness, the smiles and the hospitality of the staff that wins you over, instantly. When me and my wife reached the hotel we were offered a lovely mix of warm Apple juice with cinnamon and greeted with amazing warmth, making us feel comfortable and delighted. Coming to the other facilities, the hotel has a spa, a nice although smallish library, a beautiful restaurant that offers multi cuisines and of course lovely food, and more. In The evening we had a lovely performance by the hotel staff, performing the traditional Bhutanese dance. All in all we had a very comfortable stay at the Dhensa Boutique. Surely recommended for all those planning to visit Bhutan and have Punakha on their trip. The town may not offer much but if you’re going from Paro you can stop at a couple of interesting sights like the 108 stupas or the Suspension Bridge. That’s it from me, hope you enjoyed reading!…
This is a quiet small spa resort with very 24 clean suite rooms. The suite rooms offer good views overlooking the valley below. Room and bathroom facilities are modern but rather clinical. There is only one restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although smoking appears not to be permitted in the room, nonetheless, an ash tray is provided in the balcony for smokers (who of course may bring the ash tray into the room to smoke). Apart from the spa and the gym, facilities for other activities are not available. It can be boring if one is not keen in using the spa or the gym. This is a resort intended for those who are just looking for a quiet modern resort to rest and do nothing much. Staff are English speaking, polite, friendly, attentive and very helpful.
Stayed two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent. Lovely rooms with amazing views. Were privileged to watch a performance of local dancing - when our group joined in, it was much less rhythmic but very enjoyable! Enjoyed our dinners and breakfasts here. The chef was most accommodating with the two allergy sufferers in our group.
Recently returned from 10 days in Bhutan and stayed for 2 nights here at DHENSA. It's a terrific, high quality, boutique hotel. Thoroughly recommended. Might I also add that Bhutan is a wonderful country. Pristine in many ways and a delight to visit.
As the title says wow!! I loved our stay here just a pity it was just for one night. Our room was stunning with breathtaking views into the valley. The cultural dance show that the hotel put on was very good. We ate in the restaurant off the a la carte menu in the evening and the food was delicious. All the staff were so friendly and helpful
Stayed for one night at Dhensa and it was magical. Everything was perfect! The resort is located away from the town and has a majestic view of the valley. Room - The cottages are spread across the property. The rooms are spacious and made out of gorgeous wood. The view from the balcony is beautiful. We stayed in rooms 205, 206 and 207. All had valley view. The bathrooms are spacious and well stocked. Food - The restaurant serves amazing food. Breakfast buffet and dinner were sumptuous with lot of options. For lunch we had ordered Jain (without onion and garlic) and it was perfect. The staff is friendly and the service impeccable. They even provide a cultural entertainment which includes folk dance and music. On a cold winter night experiencing Bhutanese folk dance and music with a bonfire is truly memorable. They even call guests to join them by teaching a few steps. Overall our stay was perfect and if I am ever in Punakha again I would certain choose Dhensa. …
the place is precious as the setting and rooms are perfect...hospitable Bhutanese people run the place...It's an authentic Bhutanese experience without the heavy decor. The spa is pretty too, relaxation in the wild!
