We stayed for 2 nights and our experience was good, but nothing to wow about. There is nothing horrible, and it was better than we anticipated. Rooms are average size, bathrooms functional, there is a tv with a variety of channels. Food was just ok. The ambiance around the property is lovely. If in the area, you will get good hospitality and comfortable bed.

The property is located perfectly and the view from the rooms is beautiful. The rooms are beautiful as well. Very (very) spacious and clean with perfect blend of luxury and Bhutanese architecture. The food is quite tasty and staff is courteous as well. Overall, amazing stay. Recommended.

Stayed here for a night while visiting Punakha. The rooms are chalet style and are very nice inside. There is no wifi available tho but you can get connected nearer to hotel reception. Breakfast and dinner were basic but ok. My only problem was that the bathroom flooded when i turned on the bathroom sink, i didnt complain or anything as i was there only a night.

We stayed in room 109, which was a chalet type room away from the main building. The room on appearance was lovely, you had your own little balcony. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom looked dated and the shower pressure was non existent, ended up using the bucket and jug. This seems to be common in Buhtan. Room was fairly quiet. We had WiFi in the room as the router was outside, saved sitting in the outside terrace, bonus!! The evening buffet meal was a let down, no option to have ala carte was offered. We are only a party of 2 but there were 3 large tour groups hence the buffet. We found the food bland and tasteless. The only 'meat' option was fish which was horrible. The waitress offered us an omlette, which was ok but for your evening meal was poor. Also, the hotel is about 5 miles from town so not convenient. Again, this hotel was booked by our tour operator. The highlight coming here was stopping at Dochula Pass, fantastic views as we had no mist.

This is a charming hotel but I definitely won't call it luxurious. It's just a notch up from basic and that's perfectly fine - rooms are very spacious, beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean. It's a great place to come back to after spending the day wandering about Punakha. We shared a bottle of wine (very decently priced Australia) over 2 nights (the duration of our stay) on their little terrace that overlooked most of the valley. Delightful! Staff are wonderful - super friendly and so helpful. We were there when a big tour group and most of the dinners were buffet-style. We were quite happy with the selections on offer but they insisted that we do ala carte, one evening, with recommendations from them. Delicious. We stayed in one of the rooms, away from the main hotel building so we got a big more privacy. Bewarned that the rooms are not sound-proofed but you'll be so tired from your day that I doubt sleep would be an issue. Otherwise, bring some ear plugs and all will be fine. Last note - the Bhutanese seem to like their bathtubs but they're not built super well so we experienced a lot of "flooding" in our bathroom each time we took a shower. Slippers are thoughtfully provided but just something to take note of. Plug points are (thankfully!) universal - love that!
