This is a low density resort, driven by a passion for the environment, intelligent use of materials, and strong support for island culture. Mango Bay is tucked away off the beaten track, with Vietnam's first rammed earth bungalows, enclosed by beach and protected forest. There are no air-cons, television sets or telephones in the rooms for a true fusion with nature at the island's first eco-friendly resort. All rooms and bungalows have open sea views and offer mosquito nets.

Mango bay provided a wonderful experience for our stay. On the rock restaurant is a place not to be missed when coming to Phu Quoc. The staff here are very friendly and hospitable. I believe this will be a place that makes me come back again and again!!!!!

I absolutely loved everything about this resort! Loved feeling like I was immersed in nature with our truly private cabin. Fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the ocean and breeze in the trees each night. Everything was friendly, and we loved the in-bed air conditioning! The restaurant was exceptional - from delicious breakfast, light lunches and amazing sunset cocktails and candlelit dinners. We did the morning yoga on the beach and enjoyed a few spa sessions. The beach itself was beautiful, the beach area at the north end of the resort is best, with crystal clear water and softest sand. It was about a 20 minute taxi into the main town, but we didn't go there too often so it was fine. I cannot wait to return!

Mango Bay resort is really a great destination in Phu Quoc for those who want to find a pristine Phu Quoc and eco-resort tourism, blending with nature, without requiring many modern amenities. This place has wooden houses, straw roofs, hidden in the middle of the primeval forest, no TV, no air conditioning, only an ecological cooling system at the bed. The nature is preserved almost intact, the red dirt roads leading to the rooms are reminiscent of the image of Vietnamese villages in the past. The restaurant right next to the sea is very nice, delicious food, friendly staff, especially Mr. Hai, staff serving the beach and outdoor games of the resort. Only the restaurant staff are not friendly, they seem to be working too hard to smile, even though we always tip when we eat here. Our family had a wonderful 3 nights stay at the resort, in a 240m2 Bay view villa, a 2-storey wooden house on stilts, beautiful rustic but enough to meet the most demanding requirements in terms of aesthetics. Just lying in the house in the middle of the forest, listening to the sound of the rain and the waves of the sea, is enough to feel peaceful and happy. Although only rated three stars by the standards of Vietnam's tourism industry, but in my opinion this place deserves a five-star rating. All those good impressions, however, are somewhat dampened by the place's rigid regulations: they're required to use the right umbrella for the room you're in. When you bring umbrellas from your room to the restaurant, they have a place to store the umbrellas together at the entrance. When you return to your room, you must get the correct umbrella from your room, although they are all the same, the only difference is that the room nameplate is mounted on the umbrella. And they did not inform me of this policy at check-in. I have stayed at many 5-star resorts already, nowhere has such regulations. As long as there are enough umbrellas in the room at check-in, there are enough umbrellas left at check-out. Therefore, I took the wrong umbrella from another room, and felt uncomfortable having to exchange it again and again at the request of the resort staff. Their regulations demonstrate that they only care about the resort's interests, without regard to the comfort and interests of the guests. A rule to avoid in business. If you want to have a unique character for your resort, I offer you a way to preserve your property and still have customers paying you happily. Instead of just attaching a room tag to an umbrella, you should stick a sticker with the customer's name in that room. Surely they will be very happy, feel appreciated, they will keep it as a treasure, take it everywhere they go and when they return to their room, they will choose the right umbrella with their name on it. Not only will you preserve your assets, but you will also make a better impression on your customers. I contribute this comment because I still want to return to your beautiful resort, and want to see it become more and more perfect. Dear

I have been waiting too long to be in peace after 6 months of social distances till coming to Mango Bay Phu Quoc. Positively energy was spreading into every corner of this resort. I admire their respect to nature and environment. All my senses have been taken care of in detail: from the gestures and smiles of the dedicated staffs, from the bedroom equipped eco system that full of fresh air - and last but not least the open bathroom coddler your body. If you enjoy the excellent meals with your lover at On The Rock restaurant where food made by the talent-gifted chef, you would feel bless as your table would be filled with most gentle welcome sunshine and the approval via many applause of the sea. See you very soon, Mango Bay, caused you help me find myself back. Love everything here!!

Had a great experience onsite until Ronan, the General Manager, got involved. Context: we were looking at MB as a venue for my sister's wedding. Pros: amazing beach, nice view, great event venue; Mr. Doi - their room division manager, was friendly and welcoming. Cons: this might not speak for the whole service team at MB. But their highest person- Ronan, the GM, was so disrespectful we haven't met anyone who works in the service industry with an attitude like him. 2 weeks ago, we visited MB. It was love at first sight. Ronan painted a promising picture of what my sis's wedding would be like. He recommended we block out the entire resort for 2 days so they can best cater to our wedding, to which we agreed. We left with an understanding that there would be accommodation for our group, MB would be able to do my sis's wedding, and it would only boil down to some minor details like decor, food, etc. Everything was fine. Mr. Doi followed up by sending us their contacts (Email 1). My sis then worked on the decor brief and sent it to them (email 2). Fast forward 2 weeks from our initial meeting, Ronan sent an email saying they don't have occupancy, even F&B can't accommodate our wedding, and rejected us (Email 3). If they can't do it in the first place, why take 2 weeks to let us know that they are full and F&B can't do our wedding. It's not that hard to confirm reservations; they are all in the system; the same goes for F&B capability. No counter from MB, nor did Ronan leave any room for us to negotiate. We were left wondering how it went from MB having done a 200-person party before; and that our wedding is so far out they can plan it easily; to sorry can't do it, bubye! We didn't even get to see the menu! Of course, as an upset customer, my sis took it to social media. To our surprise, Ronan wrote another email (Email 4) attacking my sis for not trying to work things out with them before "bashing" them on social media. First his choice of words. Secondly, what's the to work out if MB never really countered in the first place? As a service provider, shouldn't that be his job to work things out with us instead of rejecting us with no context? This kind of attitude from Ronan wouldn't fly in western countries. Too bad MB is such a beautiful resort poorly managed by Ronan.

1. I made the reservation at 5PM, but I called to delay to 5:30PM, the hostess somehow heard that I called to cancel the table, she said: Next time if you cancel, do it earlier. 2. When I arrive, the hostess took me to the table and said even before I sit down: Please finish before 7:30PM. I was shock by such regulation. 3. We (group of 4) ordered 4 maincourses, 2 salads, 1 side dish and 4 drinks. The waitress somehow missed 1 of our maincourse. I was told when making reservation that we must order at least 1 maincourse per pax, I was ok with that because we planned to eat a full dinner, the funny think is the staff didn't even bother the regulation they told me, they missed 1 of our maincouse without any clue or question. 4. We were waiting the missed-maincourse for about half an hour, I called a waiter and asked her to check. She didn't check and told me: that dish will take 30mins to prepare, please wait. I was ok, I thought she remember all the order. After 1 hour waiting, I called to check again and found out the waitress never order it. We don't know what to do, we should leave anyway, we were told to leave at 7:30PM The whole dining experience was a terrific. If even just one of your staff met the higher standard, this would never happen. Food was ok, view is nice. But I will never challenge my patience again dining there. This is a big NO for me if you prefer a decent service. They let people take photo with flash light everywhere, "privacy" is a meaningless term to them.

Superb staff who worked tirelessly and always with a smile on their faces. Great attention to detail, whether it be at the restaurant or with the housekeeping. Food was always high quality and service excellent despite often being busy at peak times. Amazing sunset views from the restaurant on the rocks (despite a few too many 'instagram type photo shoots' going on haha). The beach and gardens were rustic, which suited our taste perfectly and we were able to enjoy swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking etc all included in the room rate and have only positive vibes from our stay. We will definitely return when we come back to Phu Quoc.

This resort is a little gem. The views and beach are beautiful. The food is delicious and well presented. Service is excellent. My ine small criticism - the cocktails are priced well above anything else I have seen on the island. This said, we will still definitely return.

Inspirational vision and detail! * Relaxing and peaceful - close to nature - without plastic. * Birds of Paradise now grow taller than people, thanks to Kew gardener Patrick. * Flat-calm sea year-round - supports a diversity of rewilded seagrass and seaweed - creating nursery areas/refugia for shoals of reef fish. * Beautiful the woodwork in the fisherman's bungalow. * Brilliant the localised aircon, though hardly needed it. * Exceptional and well committed the staff. * Heart warming to see Ha and Dao upbeat and grounded - after 15-20 years. * Great Ronan's standards of French excellence. * Fristy's yoga sessions were brilliant - and a perfect way to start the day! * Loved swimming between 3 beaches - masks, snorkles and fins are free - didn't get to Stand Up Paddle. * Enjoyed breakfasts, lunches, and dinners - plus the joy to dance on the beaches after lockdown - with a range of ages - and delicious cocktails. * Hope to get to the bird hide next time, indulge with the massages/spa treatments, and swing on the swing! Can definitely recommend to others!

Mango bay just ticks all the boxes one could wish for during a holiday. We always like to come here, but now with a new chef and menu, it just keeps on getting better. New fans on the bungalow terraces are just what was missing. Just excellent.
