This cozy, breezy bungalow set amidst a picturesque garden was a heavenly retreat. The food is out of this world, the vibe is so relaxing, amazing cocktails, friendly staff. I took the bikes out and explored the different beaches, which were beautiful. If you're considering it, you should definitely come here, and stay twice as long as you think you... More

Freedomland was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall the atmosphere was very laid back and it was an ideal island getaway. A highlight was definitely the dinners; Peter is an incredible cook.

Staying in Freedomland is not like staying in a regular resort - it's so much better. Seems like everybody stayed a little longer than they had planned - including us. Don't worry about having to make conversation at dinner at night, it all comes so very natural because everyone is so friendly and easygoing. And the food is delicious and... More

Great atmosphere, beautiful bungalows and simply excellent food as well as nice cocktails in the bar. I really recommend this place! Good for solo travelers as you will get to know the other guests. I spent four nights and I will come back for sure, maybe for a longer stay next time.

Freedomland was a real experience. It basically is a jungle garden, with little jungle huts / bungalows. When staying here, you rent a beautiful bungalow, but you are also a guest of the owners of Freedomland. Every evening they cook diner for the guests, which all guests enjoy sitting on a big community table. It truly is a remarkable place.... More

A friend and I spent 5 nights here in late January after a recommendation from an acquaintance back home. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. The atmosphere these guys have created here is absolutely perfect for island relaxation. It was very nice to have the luxury of an upmarket resort but without the sometimes faceless and cold environment over... More

When you enter, you are very warmly greeted by the staff. Sean (the danish member of Freedomland) is extremely helpful and does his job with heart. He sat down with us, explained everything and was available every day. The surroundings are beautiful since all is made out of wood and is openly in a jungle. Bungalows are very clean and... More

Awesome and healing if you let it happen and can waste the time. We booked for a week and ended up staying 3. No regrets. Hope, Rita and Peter won't give up their precious jewel too soon. It's the sort of place that can save the planet.

Spent almost a week at freedom land with my parents over the Tet holiday. We adored our stay here. If you're looking for an all inclusive type place look elsewhere as freedomland is completely different from the standard hotel and beach resorts. It's a beautiful place that makes you feel apart of nature. The food is to die for Peter... More

As we left Freedomland, it felt as though we had stayed for a few days at one of our very good friends at their house. The place is very relaxed, called out, informal and easy going. The rooms are set in an old banana plantation and each one has plenty of privacy, being set in jungle like grounds. We had... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Freedomland offers an home style hospitality, where you can relax amongst friends you have just met, swapping stories over dinner after a day of adventure exploring the island or a day of total relaxation on the nearby beach. As each day goes by, you will appreciate we are not a hotel. LOCATION: Located 15 minutes walk to Ong Lang beach, nestled in a jungle-like area in the North West of Phu Quoc island. 20Km from the airport (about 45 min. Drive); 10km from the main town (15 min. Drive) BUNGALOWS: We designed our bungalows in harmony with the surrounding environment. They are opened enough to allow air flow, furnished with fans (no A/C), wooden furniture locally made and mosquito nets. There is no tv plasma, no hot water (method Kneipp ;), no hairdryers, no minibar and no air conditioned in our bungalows. FOOD & DRINK: Exclusively for lucky freedomland guests, family and friends every night we cook a communal dinner when everyone has the opportunity to meet, enjoy the food and the ambiance. Peter's cuisine is a skilful blend of vietnamese and European cuisine. All the guests fell in love with the Peter's cooking, and he likes sharing his love for food. ... more   less
