I stayed at this resort with some friends. I had a pool villa, which I wouldn't recommend. The pool villas are far from the beach, and not as nice as you might expect. I'd instead recommend a room closer to the water. The hotel is full of expats and foreign tourists, not as many Vietnamese. Lots of French people here as well. The staff were friendly. Ultimately I didn't find it to be anything special though compared with some other options in Phu Quoc. It's mid size, not too big, not too small. The beach is extremely pretty and well manicured and landscaped. There's a dock where you can eat out on the water. The only problem, and this is not exclusive to Chen Sea (it can happen anywhere) is that the water on one day was terribly polluted: full of trash and debris. I don't blame the hotel, but it's worth knowing. We were surprised when we got in and felt plastic all around us and were stepping on sharp fishing lures. It was pretty awful -- so just be aware this can happen in Phu Quoc.…
Spent 1 week in Chen Sea resort with my wife and good friends. A home away from home. Fantastic resort in a beautiful, small, cosy and clean beach. Professional and attentive management and staff. We have stayed in a villa by the beach, which was great. Many aquatic sport activities included and easy to enjoy. Beautiful big pool. Gorgeous food. Definitely a place to come back soon to recharge batteries.
Stayed at Chen Sea for 8 days. Whilst it was rainy season, there was plenty of sunshine for us to enjoy the pool. The location was perfect. A little further away from the hustle and bustle of Duong Dong but the scenery and short taxi rides made this ideal. We also loved that this was a quiet resort. We stayed in a villa with a pool. A luxurious master bedroom/bathroom and a room for the kids. The private pool allowed night time swimming which the kids particularly enjoyed. The breakfast was great. Loads of choices for everyone both western and Vietnamese. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Near by we visited the Mai Jo restaurant and attended a cooking class at Phu Quoc Countryside both of which I would also highly recommend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.…
What a pleasure to come back here. I cannot speak more highly, or recommend this resort enough. The personal touches, the recognition of returning customers, cannot be beaten. Livio and his team are absolutely spot on. If you combine that with one of the best locations on the island AND probably in the world, you are in for a treat. From the arrival everyone is attentive, they welcome you back as friends. There is nothing to complain about here, nothing is too much trouble for the team. I use this resort as a case study with my students. You know when you visit Chensea that you will be making awesome memories and that's why we keep going back. Thank you for a great stay and a lesson in hospitality. Hope to see you soon!
This is such a lovely place to stay. You can tell the staff genuinely like working here and are so attentive and happy to help. The rooms are cleaned every day, the bed was comfortable and the decking out back is great for hanging about on a hot day. The pool is divine and actually well kept and clean. The gym was very tired and could do with an update but the spa treatment (I had the foot reflexology) was very nice. The restaurant is nice with lovely views. The food is pretty good and the breakfast was the best we had during our stay. If you want something western, I really recommend the pizzas but the traditional dishes were also delicious. Thanks to the staff for an amazing stay! They were even kind enough to do up the room when they found out we were on our honeymoon.
We stayed at Chen Sea Resort for 3 nights. The beach front villa is beautiful, sunsets on the quiet and clean beach are stunning. The structure of the resort is totally not interfering with Phu Quoc wild nature. The food and menu options are delicious, in fact we ate there every lunch&dinner (Italian food was flawless!). The GM, Mr. Livio, is super kind, helpful and he is always willing to satisfy guests’ requests and needs.
Near perfect family vacation for 1 infant and 1 toddler! The resort was extremely helpful and thoughtful to arrange 2 baby cots (1 small and 1 big) at no charge to accommodate our family, that helped the babies co-sleeping much much less easier. That is also thanks to the spacious design of the sea-view villa ( their most basic room type) with a big walk-in bathroom /changing room, and a great balcony for the kids to crawl and run around! Each villa is attached one to another with an entrance door in between that allows for 2 families staying together or multi-generation vacation! The resort is small but has everything we need: gorgeous sunset view infinity pool with separate shallow area for the kids. Nice restaurant with great sea view and good food (especially Italian) and a decent private beach! Breakfast is not extravagant like other big resorts but has enough options for everyone that we feel very satisfied and not wasteful at the same time! With that said, the spacious room is probably due to the fact that the report was built around 10 years ago, and there are a couple of outdated amenities. It is extremely hard to control the hot and cold water using the knobs that we struggled to bathe the kids as they can easily get burnt. I understand lots of people will appreciate the built-in bathtub with the sea view on the balcony floor (we actually used and enjoyed it when the kids were napping in the afternoon). However, with its being so close to the door from the bathroom, I accidentally slipped onto it and hurt my butt (hopefully it will be ok). I also have to watch my kids constantly whenever they play around in the balcony so that they don't get close to the tub. The bathtub is aesthetic and functional but is also a safety hazard. I hope they can have some sort of a barrier, or raise the tub above the floor level somehow! It would have been more kids-friendly! It seems that the resort is aiming towards families (lots of young families were there with us) and couples who wants a relaxing vacation, so I hope they will think about more kids-friendly options like: extra towels, blanket for kids, more kids activities, kids playground so that parents can take their eyes off the kids from time to time, family cooking classes Overall, we're so glad we picked this resort over the newer bigger commercial ones as it offers a much more relaxing chill experience far away from the crowd! I give it 4.5 stars though! Great value, spacious room with great view, good food, friendly staffs, nice infinity pool, and nice beach, with a few amenities to be upgraded!…
What a wonderful place to stay. Staff, Service and facilities were amazing. We had a beach front villa and it was excellent! We had originally booked this holiday for May 2020 and during the pandemic, Chen Sea Resort kept our reservation and moved it 4 times , and kept the same price, until we were finally able to travel there May 22. It was well worth the wait, immaculate grounds, fabulous spa plus luxury villas. We cannot recommend this place enough.
Chen Sea is situated in the most beautiful location, where every detail is carefully selected, honoring its location. For couples for family for friends, it caters to all interests and reasons behind a holiday, and blends it very well. The chef is very good, and dinners and lunches are superb, regardless of the choice you make. Fresh and well thought through. A dip in the pool, a swim in the sea, or just relaxing under a palm tree. A luxurious and best in class destination. Will return, many times.
We often go to this resort and I have to say that each time is an amazing experience. The rooms, fresh and naturally ventilated, are perfect for the "dream holiday". You can see the waves from your bed, while the white curtains are swinging, suggesting you to just lay down and relax. Want to go to the beach? Few steps, you're there. Comfortable wooden lounges, umbrellas, just close your eyes and fall asleep (or pretend to) while listening to the relaxing rhythm of the waves. Enjoy a cocktail (I recommend the Spritz, but it's personal) on the lounge area at the bar on the beach, while admiring the sunset (in this resort the sunset is a show that goes on every evening right before your eyes). But the best is the food. Fresh, authentic, wonderful food, from the sea, from the land, great pasta and pizza selection, in a quiet and fresh area surrounding the bay that hugs the whole place. I am not even considering other places when I think of Phu Quoc, because the Chen Sea is a great experience and never failed to surprise us.…
