I tend to usually rate favorable hotels as 4 (dots?) because something could always be improved, but this one surpassed a lot of expectations, and included great value as a strength. The look / feel is a little dated, like a decades old 4 star hotel version, but beyond that all the interior, room, bathroom facilities, pool, outdoor areas, etc. were all really well maintained, and staff were as friendly and professional as they could be. The included breakfast buffet was better than versions tend to be in a moderate cost price range. Location also seemed fine, rooms were spacious; there really wasn't much of a downside. Even that dated look I loved; in a setting that's beautiful and well-maintained it comes across as classic instead of just old.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Booked a junior suite room which was nice and not too pricey (mid-range). Decent location, close to a night market which sold a good selection of food. Breakfast was very limited, breakfast room poorly staffed (had to ask for someone to attend the egg station). Spa was not open which was a real shame as it was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel in the first place. No mention of that being closed on the website when I made the booking. All-in-all was OK but will likely look for an alternative place next time we are in the area.

This prestigious Imperial 9-storey hotel is located on the outbound side of National Highway 205, in the area commonly known as Bang Kok, about 2km east of the moat in the old town of Korat. It is a so-called standard hotel, and the entire building seems to be coordinated according to the theories of luxury hotels established in the 1980s and 1990s. The prestigious hotel's exterior and the elegance of its common spaces are worthy of a prestigious hotel, and the three-dimensional shape of the lamp that gently rises in a sine curve to the hotel entrance on the second floor is nothing short of magnificent. The guest rooms are also coordinated to create a luxurious atmosphere without being obtrusive, with plenty of furniture that makes use of the high wood grain of the rooms and skillful use of indirect lighting. The hotel's management is based on the philosophy of providing added value by providing a kind of satisfaction from being in an elegant space while ensuring high-level guest room comfort. Although there are signs of aging everywhere, as you would expect from a long-established hotel, the service has accumulated over the years and this is a hotel that can be recommended to everyone.

Stay few nights at this place and very disappoint to choose this hotel. the hotel is run down compared to other hotels that I used to stay before at Korat. Staffs present unwelcome at reception and my room encounter brown water from the faucet, It can be caused by the corrosion of water pipes as materials flake away and find their way into water supplies. I informed receptionist but they took long time to assign engineering come over but no action was taken, I got instruction to leave the faucet drain water out until the water turn clear color. Hope the hotel fix this for all guests.

I was in Nakhon Ratchasima visiting friends when my visa was set to expire. I went to the immigration office and was told that the requirents for extending hai visa in this province were very strict and depended on establishing residence or housing while on extension. The immigration office recommended that I check into a hotel or go into Bangkok and file for the extension there.

I checked into the Imperial Hotel. EM, the Front Desk Manager, who speaks excellent English very patiently worked with the Immigration office and completed the requisite forms. Upon return to the Immigration office, they called her three times to verify my occupancy at the hotel. EM very professionaly represented me during this stresful time and I was ultimately awarded the extension to my visa one day prior to the Songkran holiday when the offices would be closed beyond my visa expiration date.

Em is a very professional and experienced Accomodation manager who deserves recognition for her role in helping me meet the Immigration requirements. She is an asset to the Imperial hotel. I will recommend this hotel to my friends based on the way that Em managed my situation.

Very nice hotel, very clean, very spacious room with comfortable bedding. Modern and functional bathroom, perfectly equipped. Soft and silent air conditioning.
Catering (dinner) in the image of the hotel: fine, varied, typical Thai (finally!) with a Thai Chenin Blanc to test = suave white flower nose, fresh, fine, fruity palate with a note of honey... a great experience at 250 THB (6.60€) a glass all the same!
In summary, at this point in our trip, the best hotel and it is...Chinese!

Before it was renamed The Imperial, I had stayed here many years ago. The atmosphere of the hotel as a whole is kept up nicely.
The bed and room are tidy, comfy, and furnished with all the necessities (hair dryer, minibar, etc.) for a fair price. I really enjoy going to the outlet for dinner; the food is varied with choices of pork, beef, chicken though some of the seafood might be improved. There is also a Sushi corner that children love it.
The hotel is at an ideal location, the night market is only a short stroll away from the hotel. Kids and I are having a great time visit there. We go to “Terminal 21” next day and it takes me only ten minutes to drive there.
I would want to thank Khun Nipaporn, Khun Seksan, Khun Ole, and Khun Den. They are all kind, and professional. When I visit Korat again, I will absolutely stay at this hotel.

I've already reviewed this hotel, but wanted to mention trying the dim sum, and about how going back worked out. To begin, this is an amazing option related to the style and value of the hotel. It looks a bit dated, as a four star hotel from a few decades ago would. The bathrooms have surely been renovated though, because the modern fixturing doesn't match that theme or time period.

The breakfast is nice but not as impressive as costlier, higher-tier hotels offer. It's all great for what it is, but if someone is seeking out a true four star experience then paying more and going to a different type of hotel might work better. For value, comfortable feel, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly and helpful staff it's great. Similarly the pool and fitness center were both quite clean, well-maintained, and functional, but on the small side.

The dim sum dinner was quite pleasant, even in relation to the average offering in Hong Kong. Again I'm not saying that the range matches well-above average Hong Kong restaurant quality, the best you can find there; it's surely not even close. Compared to what tends to turn up there it's good though.

Reception staff were unwelcome in and unfriendly.
The room and the hotel have sadly seen better day, towels we shabby and frayed, water had to be left to run to allow for the brown colour to run clear.
Breakfast was a poor choice for a European taste.
Overall disappointing for a hotel of this star rating; the only positive was the door man who was friendly and polite.

How many km is it from terminal 21 shopping mall?
Answer from raghunath1976
Phuket, Thailand13 contributions6 helpful votes
The hotel is a good 25minutes taxi ride from Terminal 21. You can also catch a minibus from opposite the road and get down on Mithraphap Road interjunction and walk over to Terminal 21. The minibus ride will cost only 8 baht and comes in 30minute intervals and the trip to the interjunction will take about 35minutes. By distance the hotel is approximately 8kms. There is a closer mall called the Central Festival Korat Mall which is just 15minutes walking and is situated behind the hotel.

The Dusit is about 30 minutes by car from Si Mum. There are small hotels (called "resorts" here) dotted around that side of town, but certainly not to the standard of a Dusit. One that is about 10 minutes closer to Si Mum and very nice is called Besson Park Guest House (Google the name for website), it's in Joho near the main highway, which you have to cross over to reach Si Mum area. Not sure if Dusit Korat does airport runs to Bangkok. I would think they do not but you should ask them. If they do, expect a much higher price than a regular van/taxi service. You can check out the website called "What's on Korat" for leads on vans and taxis.
