We met with our Aussie friends here in February for 3 nights before moving on to meet with Aussie family. But what an amazing 3 nights its turned out to be. We initially thought that it was an expensive hotel for 3 days bed and breakfast - but threw caution to the wind and booked a Sunrise room at the Desa Potato Head. You will not be disappointed!! We had a very warm welcome - greeted by friendly staff who took our bag to the room. During check in we were took into a AC room to choose our free bag and water flasks, these were a god send and kept cool cool cool all day long. The pool area is just perfect, huge green sun loungers with personal safe storage area and ice boxes attached plus soft towels to lay on and another for when you get out of the pool. We spent many happy hours lounging by the pool (something which my husband never does as hes's a fidget bum) and even swam one evening during a rain storm which was magical. During the day staff brought round cold flannels and frozen fruit stick - yum. We ate both pool side and in the restaurants and the food is exemplary - can't be any clearer about that. Fresh local beautifully cooked and served with generous portions sizes. I have never had a breakfast like it, served on the terrace (on the first morning they brought us seat pads to sit on as the chairs were a little uncomfortable and then remembered to do so each time we went to the terrace after that) the coffee is possibly the best we have ever had We found the music too loud and not appropriate for the setting and learnt that it's piped from the bar area, and couldn't be changed, it didn't keep us away from the pool and wouldn't stop us from returning ;-) The bedrooms are well laid out and spacious, the bed linen is soft and luxury quality, the bed is probably the best we have slept in. There wasn't much hanging space and a large safe took up quite a lot of room in one of the drawers but as we were only there for 3 nights it didn't affect us - I did wonder how folks manage who stay for longer? The products included in the rooms are produced locally and freely topped up - I loved using them! apart from personal face products there is no need to take anything else. Ice and tiny biscuits are brought to the room each day, lovely touch and while there are tea/coffee facility you have to ask for milk to be brought to the room. I am sure I will think of more things to add about this truly wonderful place once I have posted this but I hope you get the gist about how beautiful, friendly and accommodating this hotel is. We are currently in lock down here in UK but we can't wait to return and spend time at the Potato Head.

Words cannot describe how amazing this hotel is. We’ve been to many five star hotels in Bali and around the world and this is hands down the best of them all. I can’t think of a single thing to fault it or to be improved upon. The design and mid-century fitout of the hotel is beautiful, every one of the staff are lovely and helpful and warm and welcoming, the food in the katamama restaurant and the cocktails in Akademi are outstanding, and the gym and pool area are quiet and relaxing. We stayed for five nights in a rooftop suite and the room was just amazing and worth every cent. The 1/15 coffee in the room was incredible and fresh French press coffee on the rooftop watching the sunrise over the ocean became a morning ritual for us, followed by complimentary morning yoga. Beachfront daybed bookings at Potato Head for sunset drinks with no minimum spend was also a real treat! Ayumi in particular was the most amazing customer service manager and is worth her weight in gold - thank you so much for the restaurant recommendations and parting gifts and note! We absolutely will be back for our yearly week away in Bali to relax and unwind from our stressful lives.

My name is Preston Scott and I’m a guest staying with you as of today and I would like to submit a review to upper management of Bagus. It is my wife and my fifth wedding anniversary and I would just like to emphasize how extremely helpful he was and accommodating he was to our needs. This is the fifth location we stayed at since we’ve been in Bali and he by far has out done himself as far as accommodations go. He has been the best employee I have met at out of all the nice hotels/resorts we’ve stayed at and we stayed at only the best. I would like to make sure that this message is received by upper management and as CEO of my own business I know what it takes to understand the needs of customers and how to create recurring business and bagus has definitely created this feeling in myself. He has upper management written all over him sincerely, Preston Scott West Coast eCommerce Los Angeles, CA

Highly recommended this place, I wish we could have stayed longer than just 1 week! We were looked after by the incredible staff from the moment we arrived, there was always someone to greet you and the service was exceptional all over the resort. Katamama is great as you have access to the quiet pool within the hotel and can also reserve a daybed and spend the day at Potato Head at no extra cost. The breakfast is also delicous!

This hotel is worth the relatively high room rate: it is beautiful and stylish down to every detail. Their beachside property is awesome, the attentive and warm service surprised us (my former favorite “Peninsula Bangkok” could learn from their well-trained gracious service staff...!). The beach club next-door is another unique highlight. My only regret: we should have stayed much much longer...!
