Shocking service. Like other reviewers we too were booked for a private villa at Royal Beach June 2020. We are return guests of a number of years. Reservation was full payment, non-refundable, no other options offered. When COVID scuttled our plans we requested a refund (twice) and were told it would be held in credit to be used in the future. Emails and phone calls have gone unanswered, the reason for this revealed when a Balinese colleague drove to Royal Beach and reported it closed and for sale. We have been unable to find any contact for Accor, can anyone help us here? We have lost a great deal of money. Accor were managing this hotel and must have our money or at least whatever cut they take. Gutted. Like other reviewers we will never stay at an Accor facility again.
I am in the same boat as the past few reviews. Had 10 nights booked in 2020, which was cancelled due to Covid. Have recently tried booking again, and the hotel is closed. Accor has wiped their hands of offering credit to another hotel in bali, stating that it is against their policy to transfer any credits! I am still hassling Accor who are now not responding to my emails! I travel multiple times a month for work, and will never stay at an Accor hotel again!!!
Agree with Chris Q. We had booked April 2020 then rebooked for December 2020 but with Covid and then travel bans we entered many discussions with Royal Beach and ended getting a voucher. Tried rebooking but unable to get any response from hotel either via email or phone. Finally contacted Accor and have requested refund or honor voucher at another Accor Hotel. After repeated emails and phone calls finally got a response where I was told I had to deal with the owners of the hotel to get a refund, despite Accor running and operating hotel (and according to their website still do) Have sent another email asking my request be escalated and reviewed. Still waiting…….. Extremely disappointed with Accor customer service.
Accor silver member for many years. 2week stay booked & paid 2 years ago. Hotel promised open voucher as COVID hit. Now hotel is closed and Accor will not respond, honour the commitments or refund our money. We thought Accor would look after us. Seems we were wrong. Buyer Beware!!!
Beautiful hotel that have a direct access to Seminyak beach and we can see the sunset from our villa. The villa looks old but comfortable enough for us to stay. I believe they were a lot prettier before the pandemic. Stay strong Royal Beach, I hope you can survive so we could visit you again after this pandemic over!!
i think the pandemic still impacted to this hotel. This hotel is a five star hotel and resort, has a big potential with 4.5 hectare space and connection access to seminyak beach where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset at Bali, i got free upgrade to one villa bed room, the bathroom is very luxury with the bathub inside and renovated already. i hope royal beach seminyak can survive from this difficult period and come back stronger ! because i love this hotel since i arrived
Excellent service with a traditional balinese villa environment similar with desa in Bali. however it cannot survive anymore, because covid 19 pandemi and in previously years to depended on foreign visitors, so it will be closed at this year. We enjoyed staying for 6 day the villa with private pool and in the front of seminyak beach. Hope the new investors can have innovative solution to maintain and upgrade to meet new customer demand
We love all about the hotel. The villa was great with spacious room. Friendly staffs, love the foods, well maintained area, great spot for beach walk. Everything just wonderful especially with the rate we got, very worthy. Will be back for sure
The Royal Beach Seminyak (RBS) will be always a unique place to stay. Most properties in Bali these days have lost touch of traditional architecture style, they are too modern for my taste. However, RBS managed to keep the Balinese authenticity from the exterior, interior, and more importantly the warm smiles from all the staffs (I can feel it although they’re wearing masks). 1) Reception Super easy, no hassle, the staff explains everything about the property, the surroundings, and the available facilities. They also tried to manage my expectations that services will be limited due to Level 3 of Covid restrictions, and I totally understand that. 2) Room I was staying for 3 nights in a villa unit 102. The room is huge, plenty of room, with a royal style bathtub, private pool, and a gazebo facing to ocean. Indeed it has wear and tear, but to be fair, maintaining a villa unit is challenging but they did their job very well. When I enter the room, it was clean and all the facilities works as expected. 3) Restaurant Breakfast was a’la carte due to the low occupancies as they only open jp the villa unit, but you can eat whatever you want on the menu list. The food tasted decent, service is quick and efficient. 4) Location Just perfect! It’s beach front, what else do you want to ask? There’s also many places around for eat and drinks, a mini market with a walking distance, and more importantly it’s super quiet in the evening. I had a really good night sleep with the sound of waves crashing, it’s super relaxing. I do really hope they would improve the exterior lighting, especially on the footpath around the villa, it was a bit too dark and I’m worried that clumsy people (like me) would easily tripped on the stone path if they’re not careful. Finally thank you to all the RBS staffs that made my stay memorable. I hope when people start travel again, things are getting better and improved. Stay strong and I’ll definitely comeback again!…
Rooms were comfortable with direct access to the beach, Relaxing by the beach every afternoon waiting for sunset, friendly local merchant in front of the hotel (Pak Wayan & his wife) We were a bit shocked when first entering the front area/main building which was abandoned but on the back/ villa areas was pretty well maintained including the main pool. The villa needs to be updated especially the outdoor area e.g. decking, outdoor furniture, However everything else was smooth. Air con was cold, hot water running well, room were clean Hope they will be back again stronger.
