We have just returned to the UK after 10 days here and our 3rd trip to Bali. The location is fantastic - about a 7 minute walk to double six beach and all the restaurants / shops and about a 30 minute walk to eat street (a lot quicker than getting a taxi the traffic is terrible)

The grounds are so pretty and there is a communal pool as well as your own private pool. We stayed in villa 7 which i believe is the biggest one bedroom villa and right at the back. The villa itself has everything you need and breakfast is served in the outside area every day which consists of eggs, pancakes, cereal etc. We ordered room service on a few occasions too as unfortunately we did all get sick.

The main thing that lets it down is the cleanliness - some of the towels had stains on, when my son was sick in the bed they did not change the sheets and I had to tell them to remove all of the ants from the sink in the kitchen area as my sons bottles were there. The pool was not cleaned the whole 10 days we were there either. The bathroom is awful and smells of sewers at all times - it is definitely in need of some renovation. There is no mosquito net around the bed either which I think is a must have in Bali.

Some changes definitely need to be made but overall it was a nice stay!

These villas are in a great position, only a couple of minutes walk to Double Six JL, then only 10 min walk to the beach.
I have been told that they are slowly doing up all the villas which I think is needed, ours didn’t appear to have been done up yet but we did see people working on others. This being the case our Villa was clean, the bed really comfortable, the bathroom though a tad creaky was neat and clean. Only thing to go into these villas knowing you can’t flush the toilet paper, there is a small bin that you put used toilet paper in, I know this was common many years ago but I haven’t come across this in a long time.
Our little private pool was in shade most of the day so was very cold, not so inviting for me. The two sun loungers in our villa were hard and very uncomfortable, we asked if were could have some of the padded lounge toppers but were told they don’t have for the villas only for the 6 communal pool lounges.
Most of the staff were lovely, housekeeping and the bar staff in particular were very friendly. I found the front reception girls pretty disinterested, bored looking most of the time.
When you first arrive at the villas your first impression is of a work site, messy, untidy building material scattered around, old sheds full of stock.
They have no buffet breakfast option, you have to order your breakfast the day before and it is delivered at the time you requested to your Villa, we did not enjoy our breakfast at all, it was cold poached eggs on waterlogged bread with a strange assortment of things on a plate that was covered in sweaty cling wrap. However just a couple of minutes down the lane way are heaps of little cafes that have beautiful breakfasts.

Hotel staff is very polite and helpful however I don’t know how this place has 4 stars our villa was definitely run down and this place really needs an upgrade bathrooms to the villas next door are connected and above the shower there an open space where at night I did not feel safe as we could hear the next door neighbors in the bathroom and someone could easy get over . Definitely not worth the money we paid and will not be returning here on our next trip wish I read the reviews prior as there photos are not up to date . There are many other villas in bali I do not recommend this one .

The complex has so much potential but desperately needs renovations, new curtains, new bedding - including mattress and pillow protectors, new towels and new paint etc.
Located in a great spot close to everything but also quiet these villas could truly be great with some work.
The bathroom was very run down and needs to be upgraded, even a very good scrub would help.
We found the cleaning let the villas down, a big spring clean would make a difference, plus basic upkeep needs more work.
Also the bathrooms are joined together so you can hear the people pooing next door and the smell from the bathroom was just awful.
The pools in the villas could also do with a good clean and more work on the gardens in the villas would be nice and make them look better.
Sorry but only 1 star from us *

Although the staff were very lovely and the villas were a short walk to double 6 street, these villas are 2.5 star at best.
Definitely NOT the advertised 4 star. We paid aprox $300 AUD per night for a 2br villa for 5 nights and definately not worth it. Linen was grey, thin, stained and torn. The towels were more like rags. All torn and grey. Beds uncomfortable. The fridge seal was mouldy and brittle therefore didn’t work at all. Breakfast was included but satisfactory at best. They need to sort out their menu (eg french toast was a cheese toastie??) These villas need a ton of work. Would absolutely not recommend at all. Plenty of others to choose from.

Beautiful villas. Their configurations are not at the top because we intend to shower or flush the Villa next to the outdoor living space!! Breakfast very average (no coffee except with supplement, no salt or pepper, no towels) the large pool would need to be maintained. Very good location

Pros:
Spacious nice villa. Excellent location - 10 minutes to the beach, many shops and cafes. There is a good supermarket and liquor store within walking distance. At the same time, the hotel itself is away from noise.
I don’t know how many people were in the hotel at that time, but we practically saw and heard no one - complete privacy.

Of the minuses:
Staff. He is friendly, smiles, and will do whatever you ask. But it's a lot to ask. Toiletries were provided on a case-by-case basis - one toothbrush for two people every 2 days. There was only a hand towel on the first day, then only a bath towel for all purposes.
The bed linen, judging by its color towards the end of our stay, was also not changed.

Breakfast. You need to fill it out at the reception. Why can’t you give out a form for a villa and then pick it up? The menu is quite extensive, but the portions could be larger. Judging by past photos, they cut them back after the pandemic. There is not enough bread basket (buns or a couple of toasts with butter) - toast is provided only with certain dishes, eggs and, for some reason, pancakes.

Overall, this is a good option for the money, if you don’t expect much from the service. But I wouldn't recommend it to others.

A faulty towers experience for us at New Pondok Villas, but lets start with the positives. The staff were fantastic, the pool area idyllic and the location was great . I don't want to to be too critical because covid had desemated Bali for the two years and it is now only just getting to it's knees. New Pondok would and I think will be great once they put some money into it again to fix the cosmetic scars and small things that to be honest some people notice. We had a broken door first day, second day the hot water service broke, the third day the shower head was sending water in all directions and so on lol. There is a lot of peeling paint and old furniture. All this is ok if your not the fusey type. Breakfast was either noodles or rice which was quite nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a private pool.

I booked the two bedroom villa for four days and had to leave after two nights walking away as there is a no refund policy.

The photos shown are many years old the villas are very run down and the breakfast is terrible only nasi goreng or noodles.

Only two of the villas are open as the rest are abandoned with weeds and rubbish. Needs full renovation I paid $100 a night and it was way too much.

Ok. What a little gem. On arrival you are sat down and given a juice. Booked in and taken to your villa. All easy. The villa was itself wonderful. The out door pool. The out door lounge area. And the bedroom all enclosed with air conditioning that worked perfectly. The bathroom area was clean and functional. Hot water and all that you needed. This was the only area that was in a little need of an upgrade. But it worked for me. Breakfast was served in your room in the morning. Eggs fruit and coffee. Wonderful. The staff were so friendly. Being a solo traveller it was wonderful that everyone chats away with you. I really can’t fault this little gem. For value for money. I don’t think I have ever stayed in somewhere so cost effective. The location is also absolutely perfect. 5 min from the beach adn double six area but tucked away in a little side street. Did I mention that this is a little gem hidden away. Lol ! Enjoy. I will be back x
