I am a professional field and tour guide specializing in photographic, walking, wildlife and motorcycle tours and safaris. I have been working in the industry now for more than 2 decades. I have been using this establishment now for a while and feel I need to write something about them. I keep on returning to De Wagenhuis for two main... More

Very quiet and peaceful place. Breakfast was lovely. We had a table whit a beautiful view on the fields. If you want to... More

De Wagenhuis is a wonderful place with sincere and welcoming people. The farm and guest house are beautifully situated: great views, wonderful rooms with African art, very good breakfast and lovely staff. Anneke and Andrew can tell you lots about the region and communities. The swimming pool and friendly dogs in the garden make it all complete. Staying here is... More

If ever you visit the Western Cape in South Africa, you really must stay at this fantastic place. We have travelled the world a great deal and always use Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Never ever before have we experienced such a wonderful stay. What a magnificent advertisement for the country. Everything was superior, accommodation, breakfast, surroundings and the most splendid... Whilst on a mountian bike race we were lucky to be allocated this property. Dtaing back to 1797 it is so charming and Andrew is an amazing host - but beware of his raisins soaked in manpoer!! Wheteth in teh Wagenhuis or teh newer double story block the rooms are great with a wonderful shower

Andrew and Anneke are the best hosts of any guest house I have ever been to. They are attentive, caring and nothing is too much to ask. The rooms themselves are very spacious, and beautifully decorated. I would recommend requesting a room on the upper level as they have great views. However, once you step out your door you can... We experienced a warm and friendly welcome on arrival .Shown our fabulously comfortable rooms, Superb breakfast choices, all set in beautiful Cape Dutch architecture. There is an intimate chapel which offers an ideal setting for weddings, christenings and vowel renewals. A home from home ambiance. We'll be back again soon!!

This was a one night , first visit. What a mistake !! We should have discovered this wonderful farm hidden gem much sooner in the course of our visits to South Africa, and for an extended stay. Despite being just off the N2, it was not easy to locate. However, our hosts were welcoming , attentive, kind and generous to... More

We as tour operators, Tours4you, organised a group tour of 16 "young at heart" travellers to De Wagenhuis. This was our second visit to this lovely farm and our first since the new accommodation wing "District Seven" has been completed. The comfortable, spacious en-suite units are very tastefully furnished, have flat screen TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. The converted "wagon... More

We found this place by chance for an overnight stop driving back from Plettenberg to Cape Town. We did not have a satnav and it was difficult to find; there is no signpost at the road. It was well worth the hunt. Annekle had not intended to be open that evening but she welcomed us and rustled up a snack... More
