Was booked into accommodation by my employer. Have stayed in several places in the local area. Accommodation average and serves it's purpose. I don't have anything negative to say about the accommodation. Food was enjoyable, however, lunch packs need attention. Given steak and chips, not quite suitable for consumption without a knife and fork, no drinks provided. A polystyrene box!!!...

Dear 'Jeff the hangman', Thank you for your review which we welcome. We hope to make everyone's stay pleasant and enjoyable and where possible go the extra mile over and above providing B&B. I am glad the food was enjoyable as we pride ourselves on personalized home cooked fare. At the time the booking was made we were asked if...

We stayed at this lovely and quaint B&B Guest house, we had a very lovely and welcoming host "David" , he was friendly, attentive and made our stay enjoyable if only for 1 night. We stayed in the Clifton room, a bit small but all the necessities 1 could ask for, great value for money and comfortable place to stay...

I just visited the pub. This place look like a nice English pub, but in fact it is a smoky place where just locals are welcome. I visited this place occasionally, but stopped now because of the rudeness of the lady manager and the bar personell that changed every few months. Not recommended for people that do not want to...

Dear Johan, The pub is indeed a nice English style pub. Guests and locals have enjoyed it for years. My manager has run the business for 12 years and has not changed and my bar staff have been with me for 6 years. As the owner I understand that alcohol and reason are not the best of bedfellows. Our motto...

I have stayed for two nights and I have really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly and my stay there was like home away from home. The food is excellent and I can recommend this lodge to anyone

Dear Chris, Thank you for the positive feedback. My staff really appreciate the compliments and coming from a guest rather than a pat on the back from their boss it is that much more significant. Thank you. Simon Dunne

I stay in Somerset Lodge whenever I am travelling to Somerset West. It's location is great, right on Main Road. It is walking distance to various restaurants and bars, although there may not be much reason to venture further than the lodge for good food and a drink, as the Lodge has a quaint pub and a lovely restaurant. The...

The lodge was booked due to it being close to my business meetings but I was disappointed. It's an old house, and as much as I appreciate historic buildings, this one is in need of a revamp and looks like it's from the 1970s. Furniture and carpets need to be replaced and it still has an old box tv and...

A hidden gem on Main Street in Somerset West! An affordable lodge with a personal touch that would suit both business travellers and family holiday makers. We stayed four nights (my husband, son and I) and were bowled over by the professional, friendly staff and their complete willingness to go the extra mile. This is an reasonably priced, charmingly rustic...

I have used Somerset Lodge for visiting business associates for about five years now. I always feel welcome; my business associates tell me that there is no cook in town who can match the special chicken dish on the menu; the rooms are beautiful and the manager, Antoinette, has never failed to go the extra mile for me - be...

Had to check in late, which was pre-arranged with the staff, however when we arrived no one was there to let us in and ended up waiting almost an hour until someone let us in. Had issues with things going missing from our room. Laundering services were terrible, our clothes returned with permanent stains from being washed incorrectly. Don't stay...

Dear Jennifer, In the event a B&B or Guest House makes a mistake an apology is in order. However, sometimes there are guests that a hotel wishes were never there. From the outset the booking was problematic, your credit card was declined, you tried not to pay your balance due. You arrived in the middle of the night on New...

A homey place to stay for a few nights but not more. The antique furniture, woody bar, fire place and a cat called ginger all add to the look of the place and makes you wonder about its history. I did not like the carpet in the room I stayed in and that i could hear the guest in the...
