When you live in a small town like Sedgefield you often don't get around to trying local establishments I've driven past Pelican Lodge many times and have always thought how attractive it looked. Recently I had to attend a function there and it was a really good opportunity to assess the facilities, particularly to be able to watch how the... More

We were made very welcome when we arrived for our one night stay in Pelican Lodge. Having telephoned in advanced we were offered a very good rate for the two bedroom self catering Garden Suite, which was much cheaper than booking on line. The three of us had plenty of room and were comfortable and warm with the efficient gas... More

Excellent accommodation and staff, and value for money. Good location near N2 although you can hear traffic noise. Handy pub across road to get a meal without having to drive. Everywhere clean and functional, really good breakfasts. Only 5 min drive to a superb beach on the Indian Ocean. Only a couple of minutes drive to local supermarket/shops. Sedgefield is... More

Where to begin. Lovely welcome from the owners of the Pelican. We were booked for 3 days and questioned whether we should not have stayed so long. Little did we know that after 24 hours we would be extending our stay for a further night and wished it could have been longer. The guest house is beautifully appointed and managed.... More

Our family had a celebration for my mom's 80th birthday in our very special place in the world-Sedgefield. My parents and 2 nephews stayed in the family room in Pelican Lodge for 2 weeks. Everything about it, from the accommodation to the breakfasts and friendly owner and manager, was a delight. We had numerous braais and bonfires around the gorgeous... More

Wonderful four nights at Pelican Lodge. Ian most hospitable. Spoilt us with a birthday treat. Breakfasts top class. Room very comfortable. Great base to visit Knysna, local forests and relaxing time on the beach. All good here. .............

We recently stayed at Pelican Lodge during the busy December season. Our hosts were Ian and his mom Jean, who welcomed us and explained all the wonderful things to do in the area. We had the George room which was tastefully decorated and had all the home comforts we needed. The beds were very comfortable and linen crisp. We loved... More

The units are spacious and comfortable, some of the furnishings are getting old, but adequate. Temperatures in the rooms get really warm, given a lack of air con and can get noisy at times, given people coming and going. Braai facilities worked well, rooms are serviced daily, but cleaners need some supervision, bare minimum is cleaned and not really well.... More

We spent ten nights at Pelican Lodge over the busy Christmas period and really enjoyed our stay. Sedgefield is a slow and sleepy little hamlet, but is in close proximity to all the attractions of the Garden Route. Ian and Jean were very attentive hosts - and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.... More

We stayed at Pelican Lodge at the beginning of November 2015 on our way to Port Elizabeth. The host (Ian) was very helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. Ian allowed us to park our vehicle inside his property as we were loaded full of luggage and the only parking seems to be on-street parking. The breakfast was brilliant... More
