Lovely hotel in beautifully manicured grounds, with the friendliest staff. Rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished and very comfortable ( ours was in the main hotel, not out in the grounds). Situated alongside the Vineyard, with a Spa, art gallery and two restaurants on site. You can also use the facilities at the two other sister hotels in Franschhoek. Highly recommend.

This hotel was the highlight of our South African trip. After explaining our honeymoon's rocky start due to a mishap with our AndBeyond travel planner, Sabrina and her manager worked wonders. Within hours, they upgraded us to a suite and added thoughtful touches to celebrate our honeymoon. The staff's warmth felt like a much-needed embrace after a tiring day. The property is stunning, attention to detail exceptional, and services like room service and the spa were perfect. We enjoyed every minute we spent there. If I could, I'd give this hotel 10 stars. Special thanks to Abundile, Schadley, Sabrina, Florenzo, Bradley, Mandla, Tisetso, Gift, Charlene, and the whole Leeu team. A heartful thank you for an unforgettable and truly relaxing honeymoon, I hope we are able to visit again!

Dysfunctional at best, deceptive at worst. Starting with the arrival where you are met with armed guards with clocks strapped on to the arrival desk it was a terrible entry. First, they make no accommodation for guests wanting to dine at La P Colombe. Nor do they advise you when you reserve that you should book a table at that time (in our case 7 months prior). Room: Heat was set to 40C (104F). Windows painted shut Maintenance could not resolve floor heat issue for 3 hours. Studio room with "private terrace" at a premium was a folding table and chair on a SHARE entry foyer. NOT what's shown Iin the photo/ Room Fireplace did not work, stayed dirty the entire stay Firewood was damp and smoked Dead-ish plants in both rooms No guest directory, no guest channel on TV, menus, services, or map in room No guest orientation upon arrival Despite being a three room suite with salon, there was no sofa. No note pad or pen in room'Of the two sinks, one did not drain Mini bar was Pringles and gummy bears There is a panic button in the room (!?!?),I guess that's why the clocks Only smart tv on monitor, no news or local channels Vanity kit was never replenished in 3 nights No cups or glasses When they turn down the bed, they place the bed throw pillows on the closet floor (on top of your shoes). ugh Dirty dishes and bathroom glasses were never removed or replaced 8am they began jack hammering in the room next to us, and were still going when we came back at noon so we left again. Breakfast was terrible. Only place in SA that didn't server fresh juices. Everything was out of a can or bottle. Limited offerings, mostly store bought. Staff of 5 stayed by the bar area, and only when we got up to ask if there were any warm dishes did they provide other alternatives. We skipped breakfast the last 2 mornings it was so bad. Admittedly we had been staying on safari at Singita properties where everything is curated to perfection. This property was just awful comparison. It feels like there is no management or appreciation for detail. The folding table and chair in lieu of a proper terrace smacks of fraud. Conveyed all to the lux travel group that had recommended and doubt any of their future guests will be referred there.

My only compliant about Leeu Estates is that we only stayed one night! We live in Piedmont, Italy so we're used to beautiful wine country views, but Franschhoek still took our breath away. The Estate itself is impeccably done down to the last detail. The wines are so fantastic that we shipped a case home to Italy after our tasting. Most importantly, we absolutely loved every person that we met there. The staff was so friendly and wonderful. We plan on returning, but this experience also made us excited to visit the Leeu that is opening soon closer to us in Florence!

Exceptional - the most beautiful property and amenities- courteous helpful staff, rooms that are true perfection - we opted for a room with a fire place as it was winter and it was worth it! Visited the wine studio for a tasting and ended up buying many bottles - one of our favourite vineyards now by far. Food was also delicious.

The grandeur of location and richness of interior and comfort is not to he mixed with the quality of service once you enter the in-house restaurant for a breakfast or a meal. Very average service levels with under trained staff .certainly does not deserve the top dollar billing that it gets .

I cannot recommend this place enough. Amazing staff and a beautiful hotel. Rooms are contemporary and spacious and the food and wine is great. The spa was also amazing and they provide various treatment packages as well as having a sauna, plunge pool and gym.

Art objects within manicured gardens and wonderful vineyards, amazing to stay in this beautiful estate with wonderful restaurants. Try their own vines, some of their Chenins are delicious! The view over the Franschhoek Valley is stunning, Definitely the best hotel in Franschhoek!

After 18 days of travel starting with safari in Kenya, time in Nairobi, Victoria Falls, more safari in Botswana and 4 days in Cape Town, we had WISELY decided to end our trip with three nights at Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. Prior to Leeu, we had firmly decided that New Zealand held one of the ‘most beautiful’ places we had stayed category. Now, they have major competition with Franschhoek and specifically Leeu Estates!!! The ‘hotel’ itself is flawless, the expert staff could not be more welcoming and friendly, our room was magnificent, the food excellent and omg, the grounds are stunning…you are situated in a valley surrounded by mountains with vineyards, flora and fauna! To give you an idea how much we loved Leeu and Franschhoek, one day it literally rained all day and we loved it…we took advantage of the spa (the massage/facial combo was so good it was disorienting!), had room service with a cozy fire blazing in our fireplace, reading, napping and just taking in the mountain views! The little town is adorable and full of restaurants, and fun shops. I highly recommend a stay at Leeu Estates (they have sister property in town that looked excellent, but the Estates are more isolated, which we preferred).

We've been to Franschhoek many times; however, this was our first trip to Leeu Estates. I must say we were not disappointed. We stayed in the private Fynbosch cottage which was absolutely stunning. It was an entire house with a full kitchen, full living area, two bathrooms and a private pool. The refrigerator was stocked upon our arrival with plenty of beverages. We were spoiled each day by the beautiful scenery and gorgeous landscaping greeting us as we enter/exit the cottage. It is a little ways from the main building but we had our own car so it was not an issue. However, the staff was willing to pick us up on golf cart if requested in the evenings. The grounds are beautiful with walking trails throughout. In addition, the spa is exceptional. A great experience.
