We only spent one night here in this quiet and very comfortable location, just in the end of our holidays. It has been a great final destination between the mountains and the spectacular surrounding. The service, the pool and the breakfast have been perfect. We want to come again!

I have stayed at the Peninsula Bangkok before, and boy, oh boy have I found something to rattle that hotel! Sure, it doesn't have a lavish marble lobby with a grand piano, rather, the contrary. A simple, homely lobby where an escape from the rain was provided. Simon and the lady (I cannot remember her name) were extremely polite and helpful. I wrote them an email a month before to ask what sort of car we should rent, and the reply I received was very helpful. When we got there at 11am, before check in time, they still let us place our luggage into the rooms. We then drove for a spot of lunch, following the lady's reccomendation. We weren't disappointed. Franschhoek itself is an amazing town to be in, a quiet escape from cities like Johannesburg or Bangkok. It feels a bit back in time, but in a good way. The room themselves were amazing. We booked the two suites, and the bedding was so comfortable and thick that we didn't need the heater on. The fireplace was a nice addition to the room, but we couldn't get it to light properly, being from Thailand we don't have fireplaces in our homes! The breakfast was something else! Firstly we came in and saw the deli-style buffet, slightly disappointed, until I was presented with a menu, where I could have anything off the menu made to order. Try the "Franschhoek breakfast" which apparently is a stuffed croissant. Their pastries are so delicious! The fresh squeeze orange juice, and the service from the waiters and waitresses was immaculate. Really know how to pamper you! The funniest thing I found was that EVERYTHING was lavender themed. Including Lavender Champagne, lanvender scented soaps, shampoos, lotions. There is absolutely NO WAY I WILL FORGET THIS PLACE. How can I think to myself "Hmm next time I'm in the western cape I HAVE to go to Lavender farm guest house!" There is no way I would choose any other hotel. If anybody is in the western cape, do not go without coming here! My advice: Rent a car. They're quite cheap and the best way to get around in my opinion.
