This is a lovely guesthouse. We had a room in the main house. Nice big room with it's own patio and steps down to the big garden with its own vineyard, orchard, lake and pool area. Petro and Leonora were kind and helpful and booked taxis and resaurants for us. Breakfast was plentiful and we had it outside every morning. Location is... More

Lovely boutique b.and b. set in lovely gardens; stylish yet relaxed this presents a small and welcoming environment - charming, good value and a delightful place to which, like several regulars that we met during our stay, we plan to revisit often.

We have visited L'Auberge Chanteclair several times before but each time the hospitality, friendly atmosphere and delicious breakfasts seem to get better and better! Becky and Kaii are very attentive hosts and nothing is too much trouble. This was our first stay in Vine Cottage which we really enjoyed which added to the superb situation, excellent weather and the attractions... More

In a beautiful location, with stunning views. Located within a vineyard. The gardens , pool and pond make for a very relaxed stay. Our room, jacaranda was lovely, overlooking the gardens. The hosts, we felt could have done a little more to make us feel welcome and to give out advice on the local wine tasting attractions. The first night... More

On arrival our guests are given a local wine and town map with explanations of what each wine estate offers in terms of experience. There was obviously a misunderstanding regarding a drinks party. We offer a complimentary glass of our wine, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec , which is available for the guests from 5 pm onwards and guests... More

The location is only a short drive into Franschhoek and the surrounding mountains and vine yards are spectacular. Also the gardens are attractive and there is a decent small pool. Security is also good with a 24/7 guard. Unfortunately we were put into the main house bedroom and not into a chalet with a/c and private patio. There was no... More

The guests booked and paid for a standard room – not one of the cottages. We do not have air conditioning and nowhere in our website/advertising do we say we have in any of our rooms. It was extremely hot in January and we do have additional fans should the guests request them – which these guests did not. The... More

This was a friendly, comfortable and quite charming place to stay. A lovely base for exploring the area. The pool is small but the grounds make up for this, being large and well kept. There is a good choice at breakfast and an honesty bar so that you can come back after a meal in the town and relax.

What a beautiful place, we stayed in the Syringa room, which was so lovely with direct access to a completely private terrace and the gorgeous gardens and pool area. So relaxing and just far enough from the town (3-4 minutes in the car) to be completely quiet and relaxing. Will definitely stay here again if visiting the special Franchoek.

Our third visit. Great location on the outskirts of Franschhoek. Very quiet and good views across countryside. Management has changed three times in as many years, but the dog is a constant! People come here year after year and it's easy to see why - life is easy and comfortable, but parts of the accommodation are beginning to look a... More

A very short distance out of town, just past the Hugenot Monument you will find this little gem. Our room was beautifully decorated with a lovely patio leading on to the garden in the direction of the pool and the duck pond. The gardens are tranquil and well maintained, and lead up to the vineyard where you can take a... More
