I made the reservation at Gable Manor for two of my fellow workers who were attending the Deputy Heads' Conference at Bridge House. They came back full of praise for the accommodation and words like luxury, comfort, space and privacy came to the fore. They both said they felt like they had been spoilt rotten!
We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time! Very kind host, lovely accommodation and a beautiful garden. Just a 10 min walk to the center of Franschhoek through a very nice amd safe neighbourhood. Only thing that didn‘t work that well was wifi in the rooms. But that didn‘t bother at all. I can really recommend this guesthouse and I‘ll definitley come back.
Lovely accommodation in the heart of Franschhoek. Rooms were very clean and Beds super comfy! We highly recommend Gable Manor Guest House. We will definitely be back. The host was very helpful and assisted with all of our requests.
This was our first stopover after leaving Cape Town. The guest house is fabulous and about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Franschhoek. The rooms were beautiful and very well appointed. It’s situated in a very quiet area, so you’re assured of a good nights sleep. We stayed for 3 nights and were made very welcome. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff are so friendly. Thoroughly recommend it, but if you have mobility problems you may be better trying to get a taxi back in the evening as it is part way up a hill.
Another Bed & Breakfast Guest House and received a pleasant welcome. Decent room with plenty of space and hangers. Breakfast was cooked whilst we waited and chef was very personable. Reception has an Honesty Bar and a number of aged magazines! Recommended a few restaurants and also advised to take a taxi both ways although we felt comfortable walking to one restaurant early one evening. The Taxi firm recommended were great.
The staff at Gable Manor went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. We checked in late at night on a Friday and the owner offered to make us a meal not knowing we had already had dinner. Breakfasts are included and are fantastic. We had a flight back to London on Sunday that left Cape Town at 20:00 so we offered to pay for a late check out. They granted us the late check out but refused to accept any additional payment. Extremely comfortable accommodations, the Gable Manor is the only place that I would stay when I return to Franschhoek.
Located 10mins walk off the main road through Franschhoek town centre and within 15min walks of the Wine Tram station. Within walking distance are some of the town's best restaurants as well as shopping amenities and pharmacy. Up the road and within 15min walking distance are the Chamonix and Dieu Donne wine yards. There is limited but available parking space to the rear of the property, with the ground floor containing a nice relaxing lounge area and access to the breakfast area as well as pool, sun decks and parking. Our room was located on the ground floor - king bed with TV (satellite TV so lots of channels) and a large bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Large walk in wardrobe area too! Accommodation was comfortable. Breakfast is served in a separate dining facility - cold breakfast options include cereals, cold meats, yoghurt and fruits. The hot breakfast was cooked to perfection and served piping hot with a friendly smile!…
Stayed here for two nights whilst travelling, the room was spacious and very clean, there is a small pool and loungers to sit out and relax, free parking, nice setting. Breakfast was excellent always cooked fresh and served hot. We were recommended to eat at the Roca restaurant and this was a really lovely place to watch the sun sets. An ideal spot to stay if in Franschhoek and just a 15 minute walk to the town with a great selection of restaurants.
We spent two nights in Gable Manor and were very pleased with our spacious room and beautifully light bathroom. Secure off road parking. The garden is delightful with swimming pool and access to the garden room where breakfast was served. Plenty of choice for the well cooked breakfast. Marsha was on hand to greet us and help with any queries. The room and area was exceptionally quiet. We woul recommend this guest house to anyone visiting Franschhoek.
We enjoyed a two night stay at Gable Manor. It is on the edge of the town but only a short walk to the centre. Our room was a ground floor suite, comprising bedroom, lounge and bathroom. The suite was fully airconditioned. The bathroom had a large bath and separate shower. There were drought water restrictions during our visit so the bath could not be used but that wasn't a problem as the shower was excellent. The windows in the bedroom and lounge didn't appear to open and had blinds which made the suite feel quite dark. This would have been bothersome had we been staying longer. There was no view, something the upstairs rooms enjoy. The house has a pool and also a guest lounge (with an "honesty" bar), though we didn't use either facility. Breakfast was served in a large room overlooking the pool. The breakfast buffet is lovely and an excellent cooked breakfast is available to order. We had to leave early on our last morning to catch a flight. They agreed to open the breakfast room early for us, even offering to cook breakfast, though sadly we didn't have enough time. We had a hire car during our stay and there was plenty of parking available on site. Parking on the road outside is not allowed. Staff at Gable Manor are extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome.…
