We had a very pleasant stay in this guest house that does a fantastic breakfast - Full breakfasts with delicious poached eggs and nice crispy bacon! The bedroom and ensuite bathroom were perfect and had everything we could want for a couple of nights. The gardens and pool are lovely and the staff make sure you have everything need. There... We had two nights at La Fontaine recently in January as we were visiting the wine areas. Our hostess was very welcoming, had upgraded us to a beautiful room at the front of the house with a shared balcony. Great fun. As port and sherry were provided for a late night nightcap. Great bed, quiet and peaceful area, but not... More

We stayed here for one night while travelling to South Africa. The guest house is very nice, rooms are spacious and we found the staff particularly friendly and helpful. The swimming pool looked very nice although we did not have time to go in it!

Thank you so much for your review. We look forward to welcoming you again at La Fontaine as 1 night is too short to enjoy all that Franschhoek has to offer. We have been experience very hot weather and a dip in family size pool is a must! Many thanks, Kathie More

Delightful guest house, rooms a little small but in keeping with the property. Our hosts were both friendly and helpful. I would say that they laid on the best breakfast in our 5 week holiday. Worth a revisit anytime.

Thank you so much for your review and compliment regarding our breakfast. During the summer months our breakfasts are served outside under the vine covered pergola. All the ingredients used for the breakfast are fresh and the eggs to order are cooked as the order comes in. We look forward to your next visit. Many thanks, Kathie + the La... More

Wonderful place to stay with a family. Recommend the orange garden room. Two large and comfy interleading rooms. First room had two single beds, main room has king size bed. Stayed with our two children and loved it. Very short walk (200m) to shops and restaurants in town. Awesome breakfast and super helpful hosts.

Thank you for your review. The Orange Family garden suite is ideally situated in the corner of the garden and swimming pool area. If the children are a little noisy they do not disturb other guests. For a young family there is a fridge and microwave to make use of. We look forward to welcoming you back to La Fontaine... More

Small family run house. Rooms lovely & plenty of space. Friendly owners & very helpful organizing day tours & restaurants (which was a challenge as we arrived in peak season). The wine tour they organized with David for the 4 of us was fantastic. Pool a lovely surprise too set in quiet surrounds. We stayed 2 nights on our way... More

Thank you so much for your review. We try to tell everyone visiting Franschhoek in high season from October to March to pre-book restaurants. We go to great lengths to ensure that our guests do not go hungry and if it takes 8 phone calls we will eventually find a table! Although close to the shops and restaurants, La Fontaine... More

Situated 2 minutes walk from the city center, still quiet with a small garden and pool, this is a perfect location and starting point for exploring the wonderful Franschoek valley. We stayed 4 nights and wish we had more time, there are so many wineries to visit and so many interesting and exiting walks in the area ! And not... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and were met on arrival by Francois who was an excellent host. We stayed in the Lemon Room - there is a lemon tree outside - and it was very quiet, peaceful and private despite opening onto the pool and garden area. We thought the room was first class, great bed, sitting area, kitchenette... More

Lovely hotel, in a great location! Our room was in a seperate building and we had a lovely big room with a beautiful roll top bath! The hotel is a stones throw from the highstreet... and most importantly the wine tram which was a real highlight for us!

Thank you for your review Kirsty. You stayed in our Victorian section where all the rooms have Victorian baths and walk-in full showers. The Franschhoek tram is very popular and a great way to see the vineyards without having to drink and drive!! During high season it is essential to pre-book the tram as well as the restaurants which are... More
