This is a charming classic-ly appointed resort offer high end evening dining and family style buffet/eggs to order breakfast. They partner with local tours and activities offering full, half day, and at-your-own pace assortment, including rental bikes. Most activities center around the wine tasting. The train tour combining the greatest array. As for me I liked the Paarl tour which has wine, beer (CBC) and chocolate tastings wrapping it with a decent restaurant on premises. The staff of the guesthouse were extremely helpful, kind, gracious, with an honest smile on their and heartfelt greeting. The rooms are large and handsomely appointed, not missing a trick and adding a few you might not expect. Like a double level suitcase shelf across from the closet with the bottom being pullout. The guesthouse manager was always within arms reach morning noon and night making any special requests, curiosities, or complements easy to offer. If you are interested in a quant, charming, full service hotel nestled in the most beautiful wine valley in the world this is the place.

Hotel's Favorite
Had a stay here for vacation for relaxing and wine touring in Franschhoek region with my wife. This hotel was something else! Picky as I am with hotels (stay around 80 night/year in hotels in line duty) I came with normal expectations and left (sadly, wanted to stay longer) with a big smile after three nights. The hotel is really charming, not to small and yet very familiar with super service, regardless of the topic, shuttle service, luggage, restaurant- and winery tips, they really blow my mind in service and comfortable hotel stay. The best part was that the manager- Ben also was involved hands on into the day to day business, that’s respect! I was really impressed what Ben and his team was delivering and had on offer. We stayed in a Garden Cottage room/apartment in two floors. The rooms were really nice with charming countryside interior, great bed and nice relaxing on our own balcony. The breakfast buffet and made to order dishes at breakfast was really high level also, try the egg Benedict, pure heaven! If you like high end service, good food, liked to be taken care of and in general comfortable hotel stay I warmly recommend a stay at Franschhoek country house and villas if you are visiting the region. I know for a fact, were me and my wife will stay the next time I go back to region.

We recently spent 5 nights at the Country House, in a luxury suite. We were bowled over by the attention to detail that made the suite feel like a luxurious and comfortable home away from home. The food was also outstanding, with breakfast featuring the most delicious eggs benedict amongst many other treats. Monneaux restaurant is understated and under-rated : The 2 suppers we had there were both super delicious, with special mention of the kingklip, chicken wings, steak tartare. But the cherry on top is the excellent service and fantastic attitude of every staff member. They really made our stay incredibly pleasant. We cannot recommend the Country House highly enough. We will be back.

We held a small intimate wedding and spent a family weekend at this stunning venue. It was the most perfect weekend in every way. Beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast and dinner. The staff - especially Louryn and Ben, were outstanding. We will be talking about this special weekend for a very long time and can’t thank the staff enough. We are already looking forward to our next visit. It’s an absolute must-stay in Franschoek. Thank you to everyone for making our special day so memorable. Marko & Jo Marais

We weren’t sure we’d like this place as we tend to prefer understated decor and a more modern touch but this lovely place nestled in the middle of South Africa’s wine country won us over. It oozed charm and luxury in a suite larger than many apartments we’ve seen. A really friendly and attentive staff made our time there quite wonderful. The free shuttle service to “town” made everything easy and accessible. We loved it.
